Performance Tool W1173 40-Piece SAE and Metric Socket Wrench Set

The tools have been great.. the only issue I might say, is the cheapness of the case. They don't stay in place inside the case and it is annoying when I open the case and something falls out.. the tools themselves tho are of a good quality and have held up well.. I would definitely buy again and these would be great as a gift for the at home mechanic for sure.

I purchased this is tool Set mainly because I needed an affordable variety of ratchet adapters. For the price, this set offers a decent range of tools that can handle light tasks. The sockets and adapters are useful for small, everyday jobs around the house or on my vehicle. However, the overall quality of the set is quite disappointing. The case is flimsy, which isn't a big deal for me, but more concerning is that the ratchet and some adapters seem poorly constructed. In my experience, one of the adapters broke almost immediately under minimal stress. This makes me question the reliability of the set for any critical work. If you need a cheap, temporary solution and won't be pushing the tools to their limits, this set could be acceptable. Just be prepared for possible breakages and the need to replace or upgrade sooner than you might like.

I got this a starter kit to get myself back on the road again with my vehicle at least until I decided I was going to keep it. months later of use I have cracked and snap multiple sockets, both ratchets broke internally from just loosening a few different bolts that were only 4-10ft lbs no rust. while using a small breaker bar is always ideal first, I never had issues for years just using a quality ratchet to break a bolt with very small torque. I really shouldn't be surprised since it very cheap Chinese junk. let this be a warning to anyone who wants to use this for auto repair it great for small stuff like interior bolts, but start working on anything exterior and your risking things breaking fast. also majority of these sockets are 1/4 drive so that is another reason they break so fast.

I felt I should leave a review after reading how many people complained about these. It’s a $15 socket set! I bought some just like this many years ago and they held up just as well as expensive sockets. I don’t know how it’s possible to manufacture these and sell them this cheap. I’m only buying more because I’ve either welded them to something to make an odd tool, lost them, etc. They work fine. Recently, I can’t find the case and want another complete set.

Needed 11mm, and this 52 pc set sae/metric seemed the perfect upgrade to the odd pieces I'd collected over the years. Unfortunately the screwdriver handle is only one long enough for the project and the handle spins. It is seated tightly, not stripped, but I turn and turn and turn ..and only the plastic handle is turning lol.

If you want a really cheap ratchet set that will get the job done, that's built fairly well and that you really don't mind if you lose pieces then this is the perfect set, the case is really flimsy but who cares, I just needed a variety of ratchet adapters and this filled the bill. I'm very happy with this purchase and you definitely get more than your money's worth.
