Sony NW-E394 Walkman 8GB Digital Audio Player (Black) with Hardshell Case (2 Items)

I love that it’s easy to navigate. They’ll probably hate me for saying this but I’ve always been an Apple user and this device was similar to navigate, which is great because I’m not giving my 7 y/o an Apple device. (Sorry Sony, but it’s a good point). The sound is clear, even with different headphones. The case is perfect because it’s hard shell (for dropping) and has a “leash” so when it is dropped my kid hopefully has the leash on him so it doesn’t hit the ground as he’s on his hover board. But even if it does drop, yay hardshell case. My kid loves it a s in turn I love it. We easily downloaded songs off our iTunes and used Sony’s dl transfer program with NO ISSUES, NO COMPLICATIONS, in probably 5 minutes. Granted we only uploaded like 6 songs for now but it was fast and easy. The charge seems to really hold too. I couldn’t be happier with this Walkman. 5 stars. Can’t review the video because to be honest, I didn’t see it could do that. Oops. But that just makes it even better right! The picture on the screen is super clear I did notice that.

Wound up returning this Walkman because I could only download 2/3 of my i-tunes library so it didn't make sense for me to keep it. I know that's not Walkman's fault but since 1/3 of my library was "protected" I didn't want to do anything illegal to try and download the songs using a software that does that. I loved the size since it would be great for traveling and it came with a full instruction booklet. The other drawback was that the earplugs were horrible - the ends were too big to put in my ear so to test the Walkman, I used my apple earplugs (wired) which made the sound fabulous. Very bummed that it didn't work out for me especially since I will be doing a bit of international travel in the next 6 months.

I bought this MP3 player to skip using my smartphone to play music (maybe does not sound appropiate for 2023). Believe me this is the best choice I made, this Walkman is easy to use, great sound quality, battery life is exceptional good. I used MediaMonkey and this device was recognized inmediately, I could sync as easy as you did using an iPod with iTunes, remember?. The case is pretty nice and the best companion to travel with your Walkman. I truly love it. Recommended 100%

So guess what??? In order to fully utilize this unit; you have to download Sony's proprietary software and import ALL the music you ever want to hear into "their system". Meanwhile it conveniently deletes any of the Playlists, certain songs, etc. from your Media Player and music folders it doesn't like. But, it makes up for that by being RIDICULOUSLY slow. Maybe 10-15X slower to transfer files than Windows Media player. Horrific product and software that you are required to use to fully utilize the player. Sony had something good, reliable and efficient. But they HAD to do a power grab and force their software onto you. I'd go less than a star if I could.

Liked it but it has marks on it like it has been used before, marks on the screen and scratches also but it would take too long to go through the process of sending it back.

This is a really great way to save songs and play them in a playlist. The one problem I had was operating the software that you had to download from Sony. There is a button in the upper left corner that just looks like a decoration because it is just three short lines and you need to click on this button to get a menu that allows you to import songs. To make things more confusing there another set of options shown on the left side of the screen that seems to give you the impression you can import songs using this option which I could not get to work.

it's cheaply made and at $80 I expected more tbh
