As an optical interface, it just works.
This is a simple device with no setup or settings to mess with. It has been 100% reliable in an environment where I constantly dock and undock. When I dock, audio jumps right back to the DAC. Using the optical interface with Edifier speakers.I HATE using the remote control to change the speaker volume, but I understand that this is a limitation of using an optical interface, no matter what kind it is. I tried some workarounds using an app, but decided I didn't want an app in the middle of the audio stream. I've learned to live with changing volume with the remote or using the volume control on the speakers.

Works with PS4
This adapter works fine with my PS4. It can replace the missing optical out on the PS5 and PS4 Slim.

High Quality TOSLINK to USB adapter for a Win10 but has some integration issues
I needed to add a S/Pdif (TOSLINK) optical audio output to my Windows 10 notebookI plugged in this USB adapter, windows found the drivers automatically and it was up and running.Using the VLC audio player application in S/Pdif pass through mode, it works from CD quality up through 192/24 DTS. It has plenty of optical drive: I have a 50ft optical cable running around my room to my 5.1 surround receiver (using the included optical adapter).I only needed an optical driver, so I have not tested the analog audio output.Later I found some limitations in the way it integrates into the Windows 10 audio framework. It does not advertise compatible data rates or DTS/Dolby encoding in its plug and play information.Because of this Win10 does not provide a dialog to control theses features. So far the limitations have not been a handicap, but I prefer to have an adapter that is properly integrated.

Works great!
Does what it says and sounds great so far. I use it with an iPhone, USB adapter, and wire it to the aux-in my car (thank you Apple for the horrible sounding dongle-berry). After giving it a try I decided to use it on the go since I have another DAC for my computer and this didn't seem to eat the phone battery. You can also set the bit/khz in Audio Midi Setup if using on a Mac.

Good value.
Works as it should, very clear and detailed sound. Works on a mobile device with a USB adapter, but is better suited for a computer/laptop in my experience with it.

Not compatible with nvidia shield tv for toslink/optical
It came in a nice box with the adapter for digital optical output. I tried in my Win10 laptop and it worked perfectly. It took maybe 1 min for Windows to recognize the device to be ready. I connected a optical cable to my soundbar and it worked.THen I tried it with my nvidia shield tv box. I am looking to add a toslink/optical audio to it. Unfortunately I was not able to make it work (the manual says it is android compatible... maybe not with androidtv)As the main reason for it was to be used in this nvidia shield I am considering returning it.It seems a good DAC but it does not work in my needs.
