Great alternative
These are a great alternative for anyone who wants to get rid of mice but not see them suffer on the sticky traps. I always hated when they would get stuck on those and then squeak and cry. I thought they were cruel. These are super easy to set and use. Very effective. I caught and released three in a row and haven't had any more since. You just have to make sure you take them out to field away from your house so they don't come right back in. Easy to release. I wear disposable gloves when I handle them since mice can carry germs. Freaked me out at first to pick up the trap with a live mouse in it but they are secure until you pull the release door. Has little air holes for the mouse. Not for everyone but great for those who don't want the mice but don't want to kill them.

Yes, they work and are immensely humane (Troubleshooting TIps)
Humane is the only way. I modified how I set these by putting a piece of bread with peanut butter into the chamber, not into the piece that slides out. The piece is small enough to not set off the trap, lures them in, then keeps them calm, until you release. There is ample space for them and air holes. Most mice came shortly around 9 pm and/or 2-3 in the morning, so I did go out frequently, as I did not want to leave them inside. I also used a stick to hold the door open and let them out, which was also quicker. They do need to be released FAR away. *I did not like the clean up when putting pb into the piece that removes, thus, adapted it. Worked and rescued 10 mice and will be purchasing more to keep out regularly. If you use, share your experience with others who cause harm to these little creatures just doing what is natural for them and a food source for wildlife.

Works like a charm!
A mouse moved into our kitchen now that the weather is getting cold. My cats were too lazy to do their jobs and I couldn't bear to kill a cute, little field mouse. I found this and set it up in one of the drawers with a Ritz cracker as bait. The next morning, the little field mouse was inside. We drove him a couple miles away to the park and set him free in the weeds. I'll save these in case for reuse in case we ever have a mouse visit again.

Trap failed because I displaced the spring under the lever.
Caution: A cleaning sponge comes with the traps. If you use the sponge under the flap you can displace the spring-and then the trap fails.

Caught the mouse and we let him free!
We put a bit of peanut butter in there and caught the mouse in our garage. We were able to take him out to a field and release him humanely without harming him. I highly recommend, especially if you have a cat who will try to kill the mouse. It only took a few hours of this being out for him to be caught in it. We put peanut butter in it and left it in a corner in the garage with the light off. We heard something a few hours later and came back to find the mouse in the container. I also liked the color I thought it was cute, not that the color matters, just thought I would add that.

Guilt Free
I love animals/nature, just not in my house. I woke up one day after leaving my basement door open overnight to ventilate and discovered feces on my kitchen counter 😫 🤮🤮🤮🤮. Researched humane traps all that day and barely slept that night. I was going out of town in two days and could NOT leave knowing a rodent was lurking. Order came the next day and I set the trap before leaving to work night shift. Soon as I walked in the house the next morning and checked the trap, I met eyes with a cute little brown field mouse 🤗. Aww. Now get out!!!Easy to use. Easy removal process. Quality.

Did not work
I first bought these a couple years ago and wanted to replace them. After multiple uses, the first batch sent to me did not work. The springs would not close, no matter how much weight was put on them. The seller very graciously sent me a new set. Alas, this set does not work either. The Spring does not shut, no matter how much pressure you put on it, so the mice are dining on my bait.Three stars for a considerate seller and the fact that these used to work but no longer do.

1 of the 2 traps arrived with defect (easy fix)
The good: easy setup, reusable, transparent, bait can be reused, less mess, convenient, and fast. Seems to be more effective this season than the bucket traps, but that may just be my local mice. Huge bonus perk- nosy pets and kiddos can't be injured by them. The bad: One of the traps wouldn't completely close when triggered. I removed the spring and adjusted the tension. Works now. No problem for the handy sort, but some individuals risk injury while adjusting the spring. (Use safety glasses if you fix it yourself!) I deducted 1 star due to this quality control issue.
