An un-handyman's guide to using this fogger
tl;dr I gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 because it doesn't have a definitive "Off" switch. Once it warms up -- at least ours -- starts to spurt chemicals and fog even with the safety on. It would get 5 stars if it had an off switch that 100% worked. Read on if you want simple instructions on how to use it.1. Pick a day to fog that is not windy or you'll have no control over where the fog goes.2. Put on a mask and something to cover your eyes. The fog is inevitably going to get into your face. Since I use it like once a week, I just don't want to suck down the chemicals no matter how "safe" they are.3. Use an outdoor rated extension cord, plug the unit in, and move it away from your house. Rest it on very flat surface while it warms up. If there isn't anything handy, rest it on a board or a cinderblock. Once the unit warms up it's going to start spurting the chemical and some fog out, so position it away from any areas you don't want to fog, i.e. away from your house.4. Give it a full 5 minutes to warm up, then unplug it and go fog the area you want. I do the edge of my property. Yes, you can just leave it plugged in, but if your property is an obstacle course like mine, just unplug it and go.5. Keep the fogger down at the end of your reach, and try to keep it flat when operating it. The fog rises as it disperses, so you want to ensure it doesn't just go into the air -- aim for the brush. You'll get a couple of minutes of use before you gotta go warm it up again. Plug it back in, let it warm up for another few minutes, unplug, and continue.6. When you're done, put the unit back where you warmed it up, away from your house. Give it like 5-10 minutes to completely cool down. During that time you can clean up your extension cord, etc. Once the unit cools, store it away again. That way it doesn't belch fog while you're putting it up.7. Toss your fogger clothes in the wash, just like you would with clothes covered in bug spray after a day of hiking.Hope this helps.

Kills mosquitos
We added a swim spa to our back yard and the mosquitos were killing us. Purchased the fogger and insect repellent to see if it would help. It does tremendously. You fog the area prior to use and throughout the outdoor time. It does automatically fog, but not at the intensity when you pull the trigger. It runs off of electricity, so you will need a power source like an extension cord as the cord provided is short. It does run hot when plugged in so keep it away from kids who may get burnt. 100% recommend if you live in a damp area prone to bug infestations.

Patience and Learning Curve
This is a good little fogger. What was better was getting it within 24 hours on Prime. For some reason Mosquitoes are really bad in my area right now. I had previously used multiple yard sprays but nothing seemed to work well enough. This fogger seemed to knock most if not all down. The main thing to remember is timing and environment for this fogger to be 100% effective. What I mean by that is that you need to spray in the early morning or dusk. There needs to be little if no wind. Next you have to get the hang of using this device. You cannot just let it warm up and start pumping the trigger. You have to find the rhythm. Mine was to let it warm for 5 minutes, then I would hit the trigger twice (it is a pump) and wait 20-30 seconds, then do it again. Otherwise I found myself spraying scaling hot liquid instead of fog.I used the Black Flag solution for this fogger and I did use a mask (we all have them now anyway). Happy with purchase.

The full scoop
FIRST: The fogging method is not only about temporary relief. My research revealed one can put a big dent on the mosquito cycle, since well planned fogging with the right mixture kills the eggs as well, thus greatly reducing the annoyance long term. And no, elimination is not possible. The principle is: If you have 5000 mosquitoes and kill none, you'll soon have 30k. If you have 30k and kill none, you'll have 150k, get the point?NEXT: Bought this for a 9000sf (900sm) area full of shrubs, bushes and trees. It simply won't cut it. Had to refill about 12 times because the tank is very small for larger areas. Even when completely hot, had to pump the trigger several times in a row for the thing to give me a decent, usable quantity of fog, and if the tank is not at least half full, it won't yield enough fog either. Repeated pumping would cool the tube -- due to the cooler liquid temperature -- then, only liquid would spill, wasting product. Had to wait a while for it too heat up again to resume work. Well, workout is a better term. It took me about two hours (!) to cover the entire area, and I ended up with a big blister on the trigger finger, rendering impossible to fog for five days in a row as planned. Granted, did not use liquid recommended by manufacturer. However, a fogger is a fogger -- it heats, liquid passes and boom, fog! Therefore, my mixture of Water/Malathion/mineral oil, carefully researched should not have been the problem.CONCLUSION: I gave it three stars because it does look well built/sturdy and it would certainly be a dream for a small, fenced-in backyard, no doubt. To match manufacturer's description of "fogging in minutes", you'd need an area no larger than about nine cars in three rows, meaning, small. That's about it. If yours is larger, consider a motorized machine with a bigger tank and save loads of time. Not to mention your hands/trigger finger. Burgess have them also. The commercial type. A couple hundreds more, but, after my experience, I find it well worth it.
