Great Weed killer
Powerful weed killer. Kills English Ivy which is very hard to kill. Expensive but worth it.

Works Great When Other Herbicides Won't
I do an extensive amount of tree removal on a farm. I've used the cut stump treatment with glyphosate in the past. It's worked fairly well on many species I want to remove. Notably, it doesn't do well on osage orange, black locust, and it's not optimal on honeysuckle. There could be others, but those come to mind first.I haven't found much that this Triclophyr 4 doesn't work well on for my needs with a small caveat on one species I'll mention later. I mainly use this for basal bark treatment since it's quicker than cut stump. It's worked really well on Multiflora Rose, Russian Autumn Olive, Japanese Honeysuckle, and just about anything under 6"...perhaps larger if it doesn't have rough bark. The one caveat I mentioned is black locust. I learned to not cut black locust and treat the stump. I instead recommend doing a basal bark treatment at 25% Triclophyr to 75% diesel fuel (basal oil can be used to allow the herbicide to penetrate the bark but diesel is cheaper). Apply to the bottom 12-16" and exposed root collar, if applicable. Cutting the tree and applying to the cut stump leads to a prolific mess of root sprouts in black locust and doesn't kill the tree. I imagine sumac and persimmon would be similar if you wanted to get rid of those. Applying this herbicide using basal bark treatment has worked really well on killing the tough black locust tree as well as many others I've used it on. Hopefully this helped you figure out if this will work for your situation.

Works great!
It works great. Mixed a batch to kill invading bamboo, honeysuckle, and tree of heaven. It takes a couple weeks, but the plants are brown and dead!

KILL TREE OF HEAVEN ONCE AND FOR ALL, AND SIMPLY AND EASILY
To get rid of tree of heaven infestation, DO THIS. It works!Step one is simply cut down the trees whenever you want to. they say not to do this but they are wrong.Yes there will be tons of new shoots growing from the roots and this is what you want to happen. But why? Because the new young shoots are easy to kill and they do hot have the ability to produce new shoots. After you cut the trees down a forest of shoots will appear and thet is good. Now lightly spray those new shoots with this product and they will immediately turn brown and DIE, TOTALLY DEAD.This happens within a day of two at most. The secret is to never allow a shoot to mature. The roots cannot survive without nourishment from cleaves and there is no guessing about that fact.CUT THE TREES AND THEN KILL THEY'RE YOUNG SHOOTS WHEN JUST A LIGHT FOLDER MISTING WITH THIS PRODUCT WILL KILL THEM IMMEDIATELY or sooner.yES, this goes against "conventional advice" on the subject, but I had a terrible infestation pf tree of heaven and I killed them all in one season using this product as described above.

Does the Triclopyr chemical actually work and advertised
Bought the product to spray Canadian Thistle, it appears to be working well, thistles are wilting and drooping down.

Kills hard to kill shrubs, saplings & many other nuisances.
This stuff is a godsend for killing morning glory, shrubs, and saplings. I purchased an old farmhouse with a yard that was severely neglected. What should have been grass was a thick carpet of morning glory. I'm preparing to do landscaping this year and the weeds need to go before I can start. I sprayed the morning glory last fall, within a week it was yellow and dying. Now that spring is here there is no trace of the morning glory. Just dirt a spring grass.

know what you are doing
Excellent value Triclopyr but know what you are doing. basal application can kill trees - depending if you want dead trees act accordingly . Mostly inactive to grass except in middle of hot drought or if it is mixed with diesel. If you want to kill all standing then mix with diesel for good results (but you could use Paraquat instead for faster results) always add a non ionic surfactant, there are plenty on amazon
