Fit the bill
We have an over sized (not walk in) closet in the master that was always damp.I set this fan up in the attic with a Y adapter and 2 4" round vents at both ends of the closet. With the continuous ventilation control (separate purchase) the noise is low enough not to disturb us and the humidity on the closet is down 15% and the cloths don't feel damp anymore.Worthwhile weekend project.

used as bathroom fan, works great
when my bath fan gave out a replacement fan unit was not readily available, I took this unit and stacked it on top the 4" exhaust pipe and reinstalled the rain cap. the wire runs down the pipe and plugs into the existing power source, set the fan control to run on high. .Be sure to apply several coats of quality paint to keep the UV rays away. I should add we live in a temperate climate with no freezing weather, and the fan is located out of obvious view.

Think Twice
I purchased two of these fans. One was DOA on arrival and the other stopped working within about a two of the install. The company sent a replacement for the DOA. The replacement came in a box without any packing and had a chip out of one end of the plastic. I called and asked about a replacement for the second fan and never heard back. Neither fan is/was particularly quiet nor powerful for the advertising CRM rating.I am a bit shocked at some of these reviews. So much so that I wonder how many are real. I'd stay away from this brand.

quiet
This replaced a $25 "100cfm" 4" inline fan which wasnt cutting it. the TD-100X draws 18W on low speed and 32W on high (The $25 inline drew 12W). this one is undoubtedly more efficient design, pulling more power but also pushing a lot more CFMs. docking it one star because it cant be controlled by the usual type of inline fan speed controller. i need to research what type of speed controller does work with it. Also it doesnt come with a power cord or cable clamp, even though theres a spot for one in the plastic junction box, docking one more * for that.

Install was easy
I use this exhaust fan for my master bath. It is fairly quiet but not silent. Greater distance from the intake grill would probably make it quieter. Mine is only about 2 feet away in the attic. There a a couple of things that will help with the installation. I pre-cut piece of 3/4" plywood to bridge between the rafter joists in the attic and did the majority of the installation work in the garage (not in the attic) Once It was mounted to the plywood, I wired the motor with a 3' piece to 12/2 wire. I took the whole assembly into the attic, screwed down the plywood, fed the wire into the existing exhaust fan box (fan and motor were removed prior) duct taped the intake vent hose to the previous fans exhaust hose, routed the new exhaust hose to a good discharge location then returned to the air conditioned bathroom to wire. This seems to be a robust exhaust fan and I would recommend it to others.

Soler & Palau TD-100X Inline Exhaust Fan
Great product. I didn't know what to expect as far as noise but it is extremely quiet. It moves a lot of air very quickly which is exactly what I needed. I was very satisfied with it.
