Looks like someone at lunch over my router while packing it
Right out of the box defective. Looks like someone at lunch over my router while packing it. The screen had what appeared to be grease smudges on it and some unknown liquid under the front screen. The unit power cycled every 5 minutes. Will not buy linksys again. This unit clearly appears to have missed quality control. Amazon delivered the product in one day but Linksys wants 5 days to process the return then 5 days to get me a new one. Will just get refund and shop another brand. << Customer Service on this was horrible!

DO NOT BUY REFURBISHED
I purchased a refurbished linksys router. After 2 or so days of normal operation, the device stopped broadcasting on the 2.5 ghz channel. Probably why it was returned in the first place. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with linksys support and they couldn't get it working (resetting router, updating firmware, etc.). I did some internet research and found that the issue I experienced was fairly common. I returned the router via amazon.I ordered another refurbished model (this time I stepped up to the EA9400) and it worked for about a day before it became stuck in a reboot mode. Even a reset attempt of the router would not get it out of this reboot "loop". Found many others had experienced the same and it required sending back the unit.I WILL NEVER BUY A REFURBISHED LINKSYS PRODUCT AGAIN. THEY OBVIOUSLY DON"T DO ENOUGH TO FIND THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM ON RETURNED DEVICES. THEY SIMPLY FLASH THE SYSTEM, DUST IT OFF AND PACKAGE IT BACK UP TO BE SOLD TO THE NEXT UNSUSPECTING VICTIM...

Likely to have problems with renewed/refurbished units.
First one worked for less than two days before getting constant disconnects on the 5.0 GHz band. Returned that unit and promptly received a replacement. The second unit worked for two weeks before the 2.4GHz band went down completely, no RF signal detected by any device. Rebooted and the the 5.0 GHz band had the same symptom. A factory reset didn’t resolve the symptoms. Returning this unit for a refund.

junk
Tried to set the router up, but wes stopped at every try. Called support and after a good bit of workaround, got into the setup. Connected the unit to our netwrok (small business) and then attached the USB external drive. The router started rebooting on its own. Got past that and set up the driver for access. Hung up with support, then the entiire unit went offline again. Reset it, then tried to connect to phone. Wireless strength was only 1 or 2 bars right next to the unit. Also no internet connection on wireless, but did have internet connection on ethernet. Nex day called support aagain. Began another long, drawn out process to troubleshoot, then tech stopped and said to return unit to Amazon. Hh then wanted to upsell me to the EA9500 for $160 more than I paid for this unit and buy it directr from Linksys. I said no thank you and ended the call. Complete disaster. DO not buy the EA9xxx series of routers. There is serious trouble. Do some internet searches and you will see. Buyer beware!

Do not buy Linksys routers anymore
I was previously adviced about this linksys routers, just for being very practical: This line of router almost all router of linksys have an a distressfull factory damage in the hardware and software that cannot be solved yet, they reboot and reboot and reboot neither a hard reset nor firmware update can solve that. Tech support is the worst waste of time 1:30hrs on the phone doing the same unusefull reset. Do not waste your money or time buying linksys, buy Netgear or Asus.

First one did not work. The replacement item worked good
This review is for Linksys EA9400 Max-Stream AC5000. There is a mix of reviews for different models. This is an older model with a lot of issues. The first one I got did not work well. The speed was good as long as it stays up. I'm returning this and tried another one. It works great with no issues. The first EA9400 Issues:1. Wifi signal comes up very slow. It took almost 5 mins to see the wifi signal2. Dropped the wifi signal 4 times within 24 hours. You have to restart and wait for 5 mins to show up.

It's a real used referbished piece of junk!!!!
The worst purchase ever. The unit worked great straight out of the box. Then one day later it was losing it's 2.4/5ghz radios. I understand I could have called tech support, but really I expect simple things to work straight out of the box. Also I purchased a second unit frtom amazon and the exact same problem happend. I'm now rocking the netgear nighthawk x10 with no problems whats so ever.

Don’t buy renewed products.
Don’t buy the Renewed product. This unit was great for about 20 minutes after that the unit starting resetting it self. It would never come back online. It’s not worth the hassle to save a few dollars. I am returning the unit and buying a new one.In most cases refurbished items are quality control inspected for optimum performance but because this unit is a renewed product, I have to believe it was not properly refurbished. Buyer beware save your self a head ache and buy a new unit.
