PELICAN PREMIUM Intrepid 100X Kayak, Cyan Blue/White

first off i have owned kayaks before so I know what i like and what I dont. Kayak is great, but shipping was horrible!!!!!!!!kayak came with deep cuts and scratches as if shippers did not care. if you pay 400 for something new it should not arrive abused!!!!

The kayak arrived quickly but was damaged. Amazon quickly sent another one which arrived in perfect condition. Nice kayak for a beginner. The seat is comfortable as are the foot pedals. I'm 5'4" and it's the perfect size for me. Stable and easy to use.

Bought mine at MC Sports for $249...way cheaper than Amazon for the exact same model. Tracking is not the greatest compared to other kayaks I've used, but it's not terrible either and I'm happy at this price point. Storage is ok, but I wish there was a compartment in the front. The bungees are ok, but I wish they were removable. The bungee thing in the back is nice to throw your pfd or a jacket or something like that under, but I'd like to put a small cooler on there but they just don't stretch enough for that; maybe a smaller soft-sided cooler would be ok. I was able to buy some bungees and strap on my small cooler with those, so I'm ok with that. The seat is pretty nice, and fairly comfortable compared to other kayaks I've used. The phone holder works well but I still recommend a ziploc bag to keep it dry. I'd rather just have a regular cup holder but this is ok. I'm over 250 lbs and I'm comfortable and there's plenty of room. Would be great especially for a beginner as it's really stable.

No mater where you buy your Pelican kayak, I can tell you their customer service is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. I had an unfortunate incident that was no fault of Pelican that caused some amount damage to my kayak. I emailed pelican customer service requesting options and or a quote on the parts I needed. And what a pleasant surprise they actually CALLED ME. They were extremely friendly, very sympathetic, and they took care of all my misfortunes with my Kayak without any hesitation. And best they were able to do it under warranty. That alone is what makes their product stand way above the others. It is how you treat your customers after the purchase that really makes a difference in how good a company really is. Pelican International is a 10 in my book.As others have commented; these boats,for the most part, are an entry level lake paddle boat, They are one of the most stable boat I have been in on a lake in. I would not want to take one down fast white water and that isn't what they are designed for anyway. If you want an inexpensive, very stable boat for fishing on a lake or just a lazy paddle on a lake, I highly RECOMMEND this or any other Pelican kayaks they sell. You won't be disappointed with their boat, and if for some reason you need their customer service you certainly won't be disappointed.

If you don't want it to arrive abused by the shippers then buy one locally.... unwrap the plastic and enjoy. These are the BEST kayaks.
