Rockport has always been one step ahead of the times, believing the perfect shoe has not yet been invented. This positive dissatisfaction compels them to constantly improve upon their footwear. Founded in 1971, they were the first company to use advanced athletic technologies in casual shoes to achieve lightweight comfort, and the first company to engineer walking comfort in dress and casual shoes.

Was looking for a comfortable boot that I could wear with suits or sport coats. These fit the bill nicely - very impressed. I also have Morton's Neuroma that likes to flair up with lack of support and narrow shoes. I already have a wide foot, so that makes buying shoes tough. However, these feel great in the support category and are plenty wide. Great shoes and very happy with them. Also, rained the second day I had them. No issues with water and no sliding around on the bricks on the sidewalk.

Risky buy
Pros- They're very stylish and I've been complimented on these boots for some time now.- They're also very versatile as you can wear these for formal and casual occasions. You'll never go wrong with a pair of dark jeans.- Keeps your feet warm- Very comfortable. They don't feel like dress shoes once you wear them which is why I'd often want to wear theseCons- They run and look long but it really depends on the person. Best to really fit it upon delivery then just order a smaller size if needed- Some noticeable heel slippage- Quite hard to get back to its shiny appearance upon delivery- Shoe lace can get easily wornAlso something to pay attention to is the issue on durability. I've read reviews on previous customers who had their pair damaged sooner than expected. Majority had theirs damaged in just a few months. I think it's due to the flexible nature of the old City Smart boots with the Adiprene soles. The one I received is less flexible and has the TruTech sole instead of the Adiprene ones. So far my pair has held up after almost a year of being with it. Take note, however, that I wear these once in a month. To put things short buy at your own risk. They're good but you may be better off with another pair of dress boots/chukkas given all the reviews on this pair.

I would buy them again!
Comfortable dress shoe, well built. With dress pants and the way they break on a dress shoe they are good looking. If you pull your dress pants up the shoe looks like a canal boat. Long and narrow. That was the only drawback. I wore them right out the box, no break in period needed. Six hours after putting them on no sore spots, or wear areas. I like them!!!

Comfortable but will they last?
There are pros and cons to these boots but after looking for over a year I decided to get these Rockports instead of spending $300 on a total leather fashion boot. The good stuff first. As I said in the title line, these are comfortable, very comfortable. They require "zero" break in and after only a few minutes you will even forget they are on your feet. I have only worn them a little over one week but I knew from the first minute they feel good and I'm a little picky on shoes that provide good support and cushion. The not so good stuff. The size is really crazy. They come at least 1/2 size too large and with that said, the toe box is extremely long. When I lace up the boots my right foot has an exposed tong area almost a half inch larger than the left. This means that one shoe is cut a little larger than the other. Now my biggest concern. Like I said I have worn these just over a week and the soles and heals are wearing. The sole and heal is made of a soft rubber/foam material which makes the shoe very flexible like a sneaker. But as this soft material starts to scuff and wear I'm seeing very small pin holes start to appear on the sole and heal. I just don't yet know how long they will last.Final summary; very nice looking boot, feels good on the feet but I'm not so sure they are worth well over a hundred dollars. Only time will tell.

Good value
Fit great out of the box. They were a little stiff around the ankles...but they quickly softened up. I immediately wore them around NYC in the rain and snow for 3 days. They were comfortable and kept my fee dry. So far...so good. I think they were a good value for occasional use as a dress or dressy casual look.

Truly waterproof boots - yippee!
After having gotten soaked by other boots that were sold as "waterproof", I am delighted to say that these stylish boots are in fact waterproof. I first tested by submerging in 1" of water (covering the seam between the sole and the body) for ten minutes. After being satisfied with that, wearing them in rainy weather proved the boots worthy. The downside of this level of water protection is that the boots do not "breathe" and hold in my sweat, so my feet get a little uncomfortable from that. While I do not believe these are insulated, they also keep my feet warm, probably because they don't breathe. They are otherwise comfortable to walk in.The boots do look classy and appropriate for the office and I have gotten compliments on them. They look like they will be easy to maintain with some basic cleaning and shoe polish.I would recommend these to anyone needing more formal footwear in wet weather.

Well made, waterproof, contemporary and comfortable.
Well made dress shoes that are comfortable, contemporary, cushiony, and actually waterproof through winter snow, slush, and rain. Think I'll keep wearing these into spring.
