Danco 15352B 11B-4D Diverter Stem for Gerber Tubs and Showers, Brushed Nickel

I used this on an older style tub because the old shower vs. tub knob was completely worn out. The old ones are a bit hard to get off, but these work like a charm and have an inside thread on the top of them to screw the valve cover kits they have a homedepot.. so it worked great.

I had been looking for a replacement stem for the diverter in a shower for a long time but couldn't figure out the model. The rest of the showers in the house are Pfister but this one obviously wasn't. Danco's website had an excellent tool for identifying the stem type which lead me to this unit. It has been working perfectly for a month so far.

Fits Gerber valves well no problems. Change the washer with a crest washer the one that comes with it is too soft but that is standard with all of them now.

This Danco diverter valve was an exact replacement for my original Gerber. Do your research on identifying what valves you have, I used an online catalog with photos after it was recommended on a diy YouTube vid. Danco valves are a very quality replacement.

I bought this to replace a mid-60s gerber shower diverter. It fit in the faucet correctly but the old handle did not fit. I took it to a local plumbing supply and he said the splines were not cut deep enough. He brought one out that fit perfectly. If you have a local plumbing supply, I'd recommend them to get a correct fit.

This looks very similar to the gerber diverter valve that was leaking. However this one has a lip around it while the original one did not and I'm curious if there's something else that isn't correct preventing this from getting installed. Update: I ended up buying a repair kit that replaced all rubber components and rebuilding the original brass components. This fit back in place as expected.
