Onkyo TX-SR603X 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black)

this recever has lots of power very nice sound setting's. lots of rca & av connection's. i have a set of 1,000 watt fronts 1,000 watt side's and 200 watt rear and 250 watt center and 650 watt powered sub. it powers all speakers very well and has power to spare. don't use the av jacks so i don't know how well those work. but i use the coax and optical jack all work very good. very good recever for the price cant go wrong. if you don't mind no hdmi jack on the recever this is a very nice system. i did not need any my tv has a lot of them so this recever was perfect for me.

I bought this to replace an aging Sony STR-D865 hoping it to be a "lunge-into-the-future". The power output was not as bold as expected, leaving the Polk speakers connected to it begging for more. At half volume, the Sony could make neighbors complain. This unit needs 3/4's or more to achieve the same goal. The radio performs little better than the Sony, but I admit the auto tuning is great for strong stations, and presets are easy to program. I have had older Pioneers and RCAs that pulled in multiple stations from afar with greater ease. The remote is responsive once you figure out the controls. The second zone feature is an interesting idea. I wish I had tried another Pioneer or Sony ES series. If asked if I would buy another Onkyo, I probably wouldn't. Based on comparison of the unit it replaced, and less than thrilling radio receiver performance, I can only give it a 3 of 5.

I've been using this for about 4 years now and I'm extremely pleased with it's performance. I would highly recommend this receiver if you have several components and are looking for a good all around unit.

I have been using this for a while now...The audio is awesome, compared to Yamaha and others. You wont regret it.
