Update International Contemporary Marmite 7 Qt

I love this tureen. It was very useful keeping my homemade spaghetti & sauce luncheon for 12 nice and hot. All you do is drop in the fuel can beneath the unit, light it and it will keep your sauce/soups at great heated temperature. You can adjust the fuel heating to where you want it to be from low to high heat by sliding the lever open to close. The slot in the top cover holds your large soup / sauce ladle in place is perfect. Very nice stainless shiny steel construction. Sturdy, convenient handles on the side for lifting. Comes all assembled. This is a good product to use for those large parties and family get-togethers at home or on a buffet table. Just to note, fuel does not come with unit. This is a thumbs up for me.

Pretty good product, decently thick material and they do look good. However, the design of the base is such that it is a bit too close to the bottom of the bain marie, and so the larger sterno (which is pretty much and industry standard) is so close to the bottom that it blows out.Had to run to a local store in search of some smaller gel-type sterno for an event - during the event. Otherwise, very good product for the price especially.

The product is perfect but the space between the bottom of the chafer and the base where you but the sterno is too short and touch the sterno when you put it in place and makes that sterno to turn off inmediately. It needs more space between the base and chafer to maintain the sterno on, if not it doesnt work. Now I will try to cut the steel where I put the sterno But Im thinking how to do it perfect

Great soup tureen for the price. Made a nice presentation for husband office staff holiday dinner at our home. Only wish there was some sort of holder on the side for the lid but would probably have to pay much more for that feature or a hinged lid I guess. The ladle slot on the lid is a key feature. Remember to use a long stem ladle so you don't have to reach in to grab it. The 11quart size is pretty deep.

Man I love these soup warmers. I bout them for a church function not sure if they would be what I needed. Turned out they were exactly the ticket. 11 Quarts... These are great double boilers. I warmed soup in them but can honestly think of many other uses.

My sister was very excited to receive this especially since we love a good pot of gumbo. My only problem with this shipment is that it was in a regular brown box. it wasn't labeled so you did not know exactly what it was until you opened it. I thought it would of arrived in a regular box with its picture on the outside.

This is a well constructed product! I love the size it's perfect for the catering jobs that I have and very professional looking. I will be ordering another on in the near future. Holds a good quantity of sauces, soups, or gravy and is easy to clean! Oh I forgot it's true to size no issues with that at all!

the chafer has a major design flaw. I have probably used 10 different chaffers and have never had one that didnt have enough room for the fuel can underneath. there is about a 1/2 to 1/4 inch between the top of the fuel can and the steam pan. You can't keep a flame. i bought this for a two day event. it was to be used at all six meals. we had to reconfigure our entire menu after the first meal. this flaw cost me a lot of money and a big embarrassment. I've used several Update International products, this the first time I've been disappointed with one of there products.
