Decent hose to connect from regulator to welder, fittings seems good quality , recommended

Check your regulator connection!
This does not fit a standard Argon regulator connection which is usually 3/8" BSP. I had misread the description and thought the 1/4" was the pipe bore which was OK for my purpose. Pipe's OK so I cut off the ends and replaced them with 3/8" BSP fittings as I couldn't wait for a replacement.
