Q: What height is the tray ? Thank you

The tray is 39cm long by 28cm wide not including the frame, which is about 3cm wide. The frame is approx. 1cm deep. Obviously this does not include the bag of polystyrene balls attached to the tray underneath. Given that this flexible so that it can mould to your lap, the depth is variable! Hope this helps?

Q: Is the picture removable? Can I replace it myself?

In simple terms NO - it wouldn’t be worth the effort and there would be the danger of breaking the surround, However, you could affix a different picture on top of the existing without too much effort but a decent squirt of glue

Q: Will plate or mug slide around on the tray? Does it come in a box packaging presentable enough as a gift and has quality improved?

It can be slippery but I have had no problem with mine I find it ideal for me. Cannot remember if it came in a box but you can get it gift wrapped from amazon.
