Amazon Basics Sturdy Rounded 5/8 Radius Interior Door Hinges, 3.5" x 3.5", 18 Pack, Matte Black

Great way to upgrade our 10 year old house and update to more of a modern look. They even look great against the white and wood stain doors. I don't even mind the fact that the door handles don't yet match. Time will tell if they hold up or start to make any squeaky sounds. Easy peasy install, just take one at a time and I'll have the entire house replaced in the next few days. Note the orientation and you'll be fine. I messed up the first 2 and the rest was a breeze.Highly suggest investing in a Skil rechargeable screwdriver. Those things are amazing and makes replacing all of the hinges so simple. I took a gamble on the 5/8 and they fit perfectly. Seems like those are pretty standard but double check, or roll the dice like I did. I will update this review if they develop any noises. So far, super silent and opens/closes like they should. Would definitely buy again.

I'm an Amazon addict. I don't want to run from store to store searching for something while burning $4.36 in premium gas to realize I could get it at Amazon in 2 days. I remember the days of instant gratification. Like same day if I ran to the store. I remember Amazon prime and thinking I ha e to wait 2 days. Naaaah. But we are wired to think 2 days is great. Try Walmart... Lol.Yet when I decide not to be a hermit and trek out to the stores, I'm always disappointed in the selection. Amazon basics has NEVER steered me wrong. It started with some metal shoe racks that were flawless. Previously I had done the plastic shoe racks that fall or break after I put my 88 shoes on it. Amazon, they had a sturdy metal shoe rack that I lined the bottom of my closet with and never failed.Since then, when I see Amazon Basics I'm like "on it".These door hinges are yet another example. Matte black, solid, contemporary, stylish and affordable. My home transformed with these hinges and the Amazon Basics black lever handles. Get you some!Yes the lever door handles, also Amazon Basics! Why pay more?

Schlage was my go to hinge but after Schlage significantly cheapened their hinge quality in 2021, I searched out a replacement comparing six different brands.WORKMANSHIP: high quality second only to perhaps Sorgmach. Each piece was consistent in quality will no real imperfections in the pieces I inspected.QUALITY: 3/4" screws vs 1" automatically knock off a star. The 1 inch screws just really helps with preventing pull-out and stripping which I have seen happen with 3/4" much much more frequently. Plus if you are replace existing screws this can help fix such problems. Hinge action was actually among the best if not the best of any of the brands; There was zero play and had a slight resistance for that smooth action.FINISH: I never did receive the Satin Nickel so this review is based on the Aged Bronze ones which while of decent finish quality -though not as high quality as Sorgmach- also was the most different from the aged bronze of my Schlage door handles making it a non-contender on this sole reason.Brands compared:Sorgmach (5 stars): overall clearly the best of all the brands tried. Better in every way except for the hinge action which it came in a very close second. 1" screws.Amazon Basics (4 stars): great price, zero play in the hinge action, finish quality decent but the oil rub bronze was farthest off from my other hardware (note: the satin nickel ones never arrived), quality on the higher side but not as good as the Sorgmach both metal workmanship and finish Only 3/4" screws.Hosom (3 stars): not many specifics as this was the first brand to get rejected. Trailed others in finish and hinge action.Haidms (4 stars): aged bronze finish trailed others; satin nickel was better. 1" screws and zero hinge play. The corner to edge transitions were not smooth and the finish quality not as nice as the Sorgmach. In addition, while zero play the lubricant made a slight noise on operation. Perhaps this would quickly go away but the others did not make this noise.Everbilt (3 stars): this is the slightly more expense smoother operation one. Had no play in the hinge action but my one sample had some sort of steel burr or something that could be felt ...at least in the in-hand testing. I did not try on the door. Finish-wise, the Everbilt was similar to the Schlage though not as good of a match an inferior in quality to the Sorgmach. 1" screws. If it wasn't for that imperfection, I would have given this one 4 stars.Schlage 2021 Version (2 stars): oh how disappointing, though I did end up using this one in some cases because it was the aged bronze was the best finish match for the Schlage handles. While the prior Schlage version had a zero play hinge with a little friction, the new model had the MOST play out of all brands and no friction; a very sloppy hinge. In addition, every piece had some sort of defect or imperfection. Furthermore, the 2021 finish was noticeably of lower quality than the prior version. Also cheapened was the packaging; this I don't so much care about though. Many including myself buy Schlage for their reputation as a quality leader. This newer version is so much poorer than the prior I actually returned for an exchange thinking they had sent the wrong one. To add a black eye to the insult, Schlage has NOT change their prices which are more expensive than everyone else.

High quality and nicely packaged. Very smooth and quiet.

These hinges are great. Using a drill, it takes minutes to replace three hinges on one door. I have plenty of hinges to replace. You don’t have to take the entire door off to replace them. Do one hinge at a time. Make sure the pin is right side up. I was zipping through changing them out and wasn’t paying attention on two of them. Looks nice and compliments the door handles.

Same as Home Depots at 3.5 x the cost!
