I bought this one because it would ship faster than buying a new one. I was hesitant to buy a used remanufactured unit but it worked out well.The unit had no instructions on how to assemble it. But being a mechanic I was able to figure i out. The parts were basically thrown in the box. But since this is a used device I was ok with that.It performed wonderfully. Lots of power. It ripped my lawn to shreds!Yes the bag fills quickly, but since it fills it so full it is heavy to lift. So anything larger would probably be to heavy to lift. It's all a sign of how well this thing does it's job, which is the point of buying one.Buy this if you have a smaller to medium yard. If you have a very large yard I would use a small yard tractor with a pull behind attachment.

As many have stated their skepticism, I was, too, skeptical of a refurbished machine, let alone a corded electric dethatcher. I was as skeptical as a rump voter in Arizona after a legitimate election. (No way this thing really works.) I digress. It arrived well packaged and clean with minimal apparent wear. I have a moderate sized yard. I initially ran the Sun Joe over my yard at a medium height and filled both of my green bins with thatch. (My yard is under a sun burst locust tree and hasn't been thatched in years prior to our moving in.) I waited a couple of weeks, and used the Sun Joe again. I again, filed my green bin. As others have advised, don't use the bag. It's a waste of time. Run the Sun Joe over your lawn, rake into piles and load into green bin, then use your lawn mower to pick up whatever remnants are left. Will update with additional picture after I overseed and fertilize.

I've used the Sun Joe once to dethatch my front lawn. I was amazed at the rows of piles of thatch. It did a great job, almost too good. It took me almost a day to rack up and bag all the thatch. The Sun Joe was easy to use; however moving the electrical cord around the yard was a constant interruption. A cordless version might be easier, but I think it would have to have several batteries to do my yard. Toward the end, the Sun Joe overheated and stopped. I had to finish the job the next morning. I didn't mind as it gave me time to work on racking up some of the thatch. I want to go over the yard again and to use the other attachment. The thatch catcher is useless. I don't know why they even include it. Overall I'm satisfied with the Sun Joe and I recommend it.

Purchased a renewed model, no noticeable blemishes, parts appeared new. Used it on two different sections of property. Did a great job on both - even with different types grass / terrain. I've seen comments about how the "bagging is useless" ... which to me just reflects how well it worked. Yes, bag filled easily, but that was because it did such a great job of raking out dead grass /thinning. If you don't want to have to frequently empty the bag (again, because it actually was doing a good job of raking), don't use the bag. Finish with SunJoe and then run the mower afterwards to pick up what is laying on top, or rake your self. The Sun Joe did the hard work. It even tore out some weeds with the runners that had spread in the yard.

Feels flimsy and cheap but does an AMAZING job! Well worth the money and greatly liked by all the "lawn" guys I know. Buy it...you won't regret it.

Seems Flimsy but got the job done, bagger to small fills us to quickly and not so easy taking on & off has to click back into place every time or falls off litte bit of pain so 3 stars is all it gets

I bought this on Amazon and now they tell me there is no warranty. I have used this thing maybe 3 times and it has now stopped working and they aren’t willing to refund or replace this item.

As you can see from the before and after 5 weeks and overseed. Bam! The front yard is very small and it still filled a large lawn and leaf bag! The dethatcher was great. Also used the scarifier part in the back yard on some dead areas for seeding. Works great! Stop paying for someone else to do it. Easy machine to use!
