Set of 2 Front Hood Lift Support Struts Gas Shock Spring for Ford Crown Victoria Mercury Grand Marquis 1998-2005

Great Struts. Installation was easy, These struts are low noise, are a great height, and fit my Crown Victoria perfectly. Crown Victorias are fairly large cars with large and heavy hoods, so I was surprised to see these struts fit and support the weight of the hood so well. Pricewise they are on the higher end of the median, but the quality shows its worth so far.

The hood on my 99 Grand Marquis doesn't fall on my head anymore.

Replacement was moderately easy. Getting the old U-Clamps off the top and bottom of the old struts requires some continuous efforts with a small blade screw driver. The new struts went on easy and the fit and lift capacity is excellent. The hood support is very good, the struts are strong in holding capacity, and good value for the money. I would suggest you watch a You Tube video on how to replace and install, as no directions were provided.

Works great, took literal seconds to install and I no longer have to rest the hood on my head while working on my car.

It really was just pop the old one's off and pop the new once's in, however this was after I learning that from YouTube video's showing how to take the old metal clips off the old struts which can be a bit of a fuss if you don't have the right tools, but once they went on these struts really lifted the hood up all by themselves on my 2001 marquise, better then the old once's ever did as they only ever really just held the hood at a set level you would lift it to. So 8/10 bc I wish they included instructions on how to take it off & possibly what tools you might need when you buy it.

Had these for a while, not sure how long they'll last, but they hold the hood up...
