Bought a size 6 as website recommended a 6 based on fact that I am normally a 6! I have 2 other pairs of Birkenstocks and they are a size 6 and fit fine, but was looking for some sandals rather than mules. Birkenstocks were recommended by physio as I have flat feet and have found my others really helped with my knee pain so wanted to get some more. They looked fine and they were comfortable but came up so big , they were a fair bit larger than my others mainly in terms of the length of the shoe. Felt like I was wearing flippers! Have had to return them. Shame as really nice looking practical shoes. Just don't get why the sizes come up different. Very disappointing.

Faulty product
I love these shoes and they look fantastic. However, after only 1 month of wearing them they have broken and come apart whenever I wear them. I am so supremely disappointed as the returns window has closed so I cant even exchange for a new and hopefully non faulty pair. I wore my last birkenstocks for 3 years without any issues. Im not sure if the standard has gone down or I just got a faulty pair but either way I am really let down by these shoes.

Bargain Bikis with ankle strap
Well priced Birkenstock sandals with an adjustable ankle strap - great if you want to walk a bit further and faster than you can in the mule styles. Matt black upper is a versatile choice to go with anything. I got the size I know fits me for the Birkenstock footbed - if you are new to this brand you may need to think a smaller size, because it is uncomfortable if the footbed is not in the right place.

Excellent sandal!!
I'm a huge fan of Birkenstocks in general..wouldn't be able to make it through the summer without them! It's the first time I purchased the Rio model and am as always quite pleased with them. They fit comfortably and the size was perfect. I am usually a 6.5 with other brands but the size 6 in these was just right.

I don't particularly like the look of them but needed a comfortable sandal ...
I was advised by my physio to purchase Birkenstocks as they would give plenty of support and not aggravate a long standing knee problem. I don't particularly like the look of them but needed a comfortable sandal for work. As other reviewers have mentioned, once you have worn them in they are extremely comfortable. I would certainly buy another pair.

comfortable sandals
I have the Madrid sandals for around the home and garden use but wanted a back strap for walking further. From having the Madrid sandals I knew to buy a size 41 N (Narrow) when I am a size 42 or 42.5 (with a narrow width if available) in most other makes. I don't like the little cut out on the front strap so much but otherwise very happy with these. They are very comfortable for someone who has dodgy arches. (I usually wear orthotics in my shoes). Also happy to pay less for the birkoflor rather than having leather (even if that would be a little bit nicer).

Sandals are a very nice look when on
I have 4 different styles of Birkenstocks and always get a size 5 even thoough i'm a size 6 becoz 5 fits perfectly whereas 6 comes up a bit big. The back strap of these should have had adjustment holes but don't so my feet are pushed a bit forward which makes my toes overlap the front slighty but not a major problem. Sandals are a very nice look when on.

Disappointed. Not as good as they're made out to be.
Bought these Sandals as they have a good reputation at being comfy. However when wearing them the soles aren't at all flexible & are quite uncomfortable & a little sore & painful to walk in especially as they dig into my arches. Kept as hopefully oneday will get used to them, but I much prefer my PDQ Toggle Trail Sandals for comfort & are lovely to walk in!
