EXACT refill as the Quill 9550, Schmidt 5285 and Private Reserve Ink 5285 [one manufacturer makes all]. Quill 9550 is no longer being made. The manufacturer of this refill is Schmidt who then labels the subsequent refill for Private Reserve Ink or in their own brand name.

I learned that the original replacement no longer was made, but that THIS item was a wonderful replacement for my favorite pen. I will reorder from this vendor.

It's a great refill product
I was this pe,s for desk work, to write short notes, sign documents, balance the check book. The one is made to sit upright so it should be stored as it would in a short or suit pocket. It appears yo write lightly when left horizontal ontop of a destroyer unused fir a few minutes
