Exceptional Base Layer
I have UA Base 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 and they are truly amazing garments. If you've never owned a good base layer, you might not realize just how useful they are and why you would want different grades. In the winter (or if you're inclined to visit the snow for fun) these garments allow you to have a core layer of warmth that also wicks away sweat under active usage. The higher number, the more warmth retention (and the higher the price, for a reason that escapes me). I wear my 2.0 under normal jeans when the temp drops below 50, 3.0 for below 30, and the 4.0 below 10. Paired with a quality cordura shell, I wear just the UA Base and the shell in almost all snow sports conditions and I'm dry and comfortable in a way that cannot be obtained otherwise.Cautionaries:1) As with all wicking fabrics, these will "smell" quickly when you sweat (all non-silvered wicking fabrics do this) - washing with a capful of pre-diluted clorox makes them perfect, IMHO2) While the outer fabric layer doesn't naturally pill, it will if you rub it against something abrasive, such as rough belt or velcro... do not wash with anything bearing exposed "rough" velcro.3) Try them on first - they should feel like tights. Bagginess of any kind will reduce performance.4) It's socks over leg cuffs, pants over shirt tails for most warmth - enjoy!

Perfect layer to minimize amount of cold weather gear
Received both the Under Armour 4.0 shirt and pants.Packaging was original from Under Armour.Working outside for extended periods of time regardless of weather and moving very little produced the need for something that would keep me warm while being static. At the same time if needed I may have to react quickly and couldn't be bundled up with a ridiculous amount of layers. This product perfectly achieved what I needed. These layers perfectly trap heat while wicking sweat away to KEEP you warm. These layers fit extremely tight to your body, but I would say too tight to the point I'd buy a size larger. It's intended to fit this way.I wore these almost everyday during the corse of the winter in New England and have not noticed any deterioration.Extremely pleased with the product, would recommend to anyone needing a thin base layer.

Worth every penny
Excellent stuff. I bought some 1.0 in early 2000’s ended up giving them to my brother because he needed them more then I did at the time. It was a sad day but he’s my brother. Anyhow The 4.0 is awesome fits great. I ordered the XL. I’m 6’ 220 lbs wearing roughly 34-36 waisted jeans. A little thick in the chest but not a big guy but not small either. This crew neck is much better then the turtle neck they had before sleeve length is perfect. I’m pretty warm blooded so I was a bit worried it would be to hot and make me sweat so far haven’t had a bit of problems.

Almost too warm
Wore these 4.0 top and bottoms to the kc chiefs colts playoff game at arrowhead January 12. Temp was upper 20s. Had a pair of sweats over them and carhartt coveralls. Spent most of the game with the coveralls unzipped because I was sweating.

Perfection
I absolutely love this thing. I bought a size bigger than my usual XL and went with a XXL and it fits perfectly. I suppose if it was smaller and tighter that it would be even warmer... but less comfortable. Feels great on my size. Looks great. Highly recommend.

Works to well and I over heated. If your doing anything physical go with the Base 3.0
This fit more true to size then the legs which run small. I love this product for if I'm sitting outside not doing much. In a deer stand or Ice fishing these are perfect. I attempted to wear them while working (Police Officer) and had to remove them during my shift because I was sweating so bad that I couldn't stop until I got this off. This product is great and does what it says it is going to do but if you are going to wear this and do something physical you might want to go with the base 3.0 which I wear all the time.

This base layer is designed to fit snug, do not order to small a size.
I am a landscape photographer, and as such I spend decent periods of time in low temps, with little activity. This base 4.0 layer really does keep me warm. Combined with my other cold gear I am very comfortable in very low temps. The fit is snug which I like, allows lots of free movement, and is so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. The price for the bottoms and top is not cheap, but it is well worth the price. Do yourself a favor, order a set, and also be aware of washing instructions and follow them. I for one do not put them through the dryer, they hang to dry.

Awesome, functional, sweat wicking baselayer, keeps the heat in, the cold out and the body dry.
a great base layer for any cold weather. I used this as my base for skiing this year, have worn it 60 days so far with no diminishment in quality or performance.layers- 4.0 UA, top, 1-2 thin layer thermals, a mid layer puffy jacket and Marmot shell and I was good down to about 10F, with light wind, for hours. Same 4.0 bottoms too.Sizing, M on both, I'm 5'10 170.Hi5, get out there.

Not the same as store bought UA
Ordered this base layer thinking it would be the same as my other base 4.0 shirts that I purchased in store. Not even close. The sizing was aggressively smaller (fit like a small when large was ordered) and the fabric isn’t even close to being the same as my originals. Returned immediately.

Shipped a used item- very disappointing
Like the brand but unfortunately had to return it because the item was used. Very disappointing. Not sure how anyone in their right mind can return something that’s been used.
