Is this a regular rubber stamp that i can use with any inkpad?

The stamp comes with its own ink pad. I don’t think there would be a problem with you using another pad.

Can the heart be left off, and can the stamp be sink w/o ink? I’d like to have the options of watermarking as well as heat embossing.

the heart can be left off:-) we can make any design you like for the stamp and for the stamp, sorry this is flash stamp, so we will add the ink into the sponge inside the stamp, you can use it directly for thousands of stamping directly when receive it. we haven't sold heat embossing stamp:-)

Does it have to say “Handmade” or can that also be customized?

You can customize the words for each line but not the font size or style.

Will this work on soap?

I’m also using this for soap. I want to place it on the back of my soaps. Are used Matt mod podge and it was ok. I tried hairspray, and the ink ran. I know there’s a product that dries inkjet prints and I’m going to try and find out if weird I can get that. As far as printing on the soap, directly, I would say not.
