Thinkware FA200 2CH Dual Channel Dash Cam | Hard-Wiring Kit & 16GB Micro SD Card Included

I took time to install this in a Lexus so that all my cables from the hardwire kit were neatly stowed away. I used micro fuse taps to connect to the battery and auxiliary power from a fuse box in the car. I wanted the battery connection for parking monitoring. I did buy a 128GB card separately locally so that I could have an extended recording history and that worked great. Be aware that when you take the card out and put it in a PC the card shows nearly full as there are lots of temporary files stored. I assume this is prior to being committed to the folder it is storing the file in. Multiple folders store the files dependent on the activity (continuous, incident, motion detection etc.). I live in TX near the gulf coast and the unit does get hot when the car is parked. I like that I can remove the cameras (front and back) if I take in for a valet so they can clean the windows correctly. I did not get the GPS module yet but I do run a GPS tracker on my phone that produces a KML file that is time stamped so if I need to I can correlate. The PC app that you can view the files in needs one small tweak, if I am playing the rear camera, when it moves to the next file it resets to display the front camera. Incidentally all of the camera files are 1 minute in length and I assume this will help in case of corruption so that a whole video file is not lost, just 1 minute. You can use free video programs to make a single contiguous file if you need it. pairing the unit and viewing a live feed was easy, the caveat being is that if you are viewing a live feed you are not recording. The size of the units (front and back) is small and unobtrusive. The night vision is as expected. In the rear view camera with headlights shining at you from the rear it is OK. The front view with my bright headlights is great.All in all after one week of use I am pretty impressed.

First,et me say that Thinkware has great customer service. There was an issue with pricing and they promptly resolved it without me having to cancel and reorder.I did the installation myself. Like most German cars, the most practical way to wire a dashcam in a mercedes is to run the lines to the fuse box in the trunk. That way you have access to both switched and unswitched fuses in one location. The included hardware kit looked a bit short to me, but rather than splicing in more wire, I decided to go with an ODBII power connector. In all, a very clean and easy install.The cameras are very good and all features function as advertised. You can't read a license plate except under optimal comditions, but that is true of almost all dashcams. The app is decent but needs work.If you diy PLEASE do not use fuses that protect critical systems. You will likely regret it at some point. Modern cars are sensitive to voltage changes, especially luxury cars.

The media could not be loaded.  The picture quality is great, but it does suffer from glare making it hard to make out license plates sometimes.You don't get any option to rotate the camera so make sure it's straight when you stick it on.The WiFi is a bit slow so make sure your recording times are short if you hate waiting.Incidentally it's very hard to pick out specific times through the app, there's no preview of the video so it's a lot of trial and error getting specific events if you didnt hit the record button on the unit.Everything said if you're looking for a decent Korean dashcam with a good parking mode then this is definitely a contender.Just make sure you have fuses to access inside your vehicle. My truck unfortunately puts all of them in the engine compartment so I had to purchase the cigarette lighter adapter separately.

Nice product and unbeatable price for what you get. Double check the length you need. The cables provided were not long enough for my car.

This is the second camera I have purchased. My favorite thing is the parking mode that records motion. It’s a little wonky connecting wireless to your phone , but after a couple tries it connects and works fine.

Far ahead of other brands, have it professionally installed, as you will be happy spending the extra $. For a clean job.

The video is poorly processed in the dashcam so that the license plate number is smudged badly. I cannot read the license number of a car standing still in front of me at the stop light in broad daylight. The picture quality is definitely bad among 1080p resolution dashcams.

Great product, I purchased this for my dads car. Camera quality is amazing and easy for him to set up. They even amended the regular price when the item was on sale for me. Extremely satisfied, I will definitely buy future items from them!
