Sturdi Products Bag Double Sided Divided Pet Carrier, Large, Blue Jay (SB2D-BJ)

First impressions: Bag arrived today, and is very high quality, solid construction, sturdy zippers and materials. Assembled in under 2 mins. No doubt that this bag will hold up very well. Exceeded expectations. Size: Purchased for cross country air travel with two dogs - a 9 year old 8.3lb Yorkie mix and a 5 month old 3lb Yorkie puppy. I wasn't sure if the compartment (with divider in place) would be large enough for my 8.3lb Yorkie mix, however, I was pleasantly surprised. She fits quite well, with room to move around. Head room is sparse, but unzipping the top solves that issue. With the divider removed (it unzips easily), she has more room than she would ever need. The compartment size is plenty large for a 3lb puppy - but that's to be expected...she is tiny. Human experience: Size is very manageable to carry, and shoulder straps anchor to four locations on the bag (in an "X") for stability and can be adjusted to the bag is level for the dogs while the strap is over your shoulder, vs having a slight tilt. Padding on the strap is decent, and handles on the top of the bag have a leather wrap that secures with two large snaps. Exterior pockets are small, but adequate. Velcro is very secure, and completely seals the pocket compartment. Dog experience: Our dog walked right in and curled up. No hesitation, and she seemed very comfortable. Love at first sight? We will see after she spends hours inside on an airplane... Overall: Highly recommended. The bag is fantastic, exactly what we need. If your pet is larger than 9-10 pounds, or "long and lean" you may find the bag to be too small when the divider is in place. To be determined if my dogs enjoy flying...Looking forward to lots of travel with our four legged family members!

I purchased this bag for traveling with two of my cats across the country. One is 9lbs and the other is 13lbs and they both had plenty of room. I was nervous that the bag would be too big to meet airline guidelines (we flew with Southwest), but it fit perfectly under the seat in front of us and wasn't an issue. The bag itself was great! We were able to keep each cat separate from one another and still have them be close enough together for comfort. The airport was loud and they seemed pretty scared, but once we zipped up the mesh covers it helped calm them. The padding seemed super soft and once we got through the hustle and bustle of the airport, the cats were able to sleep quietly most of the trip. The bag required a little assembly - it was tricky at first to get all the tubing in place, but it didnt take more than 10 minutes and the bag was very sturdy. I did a lot of research before settling on this bag and I'm very happy I did! Although, I cant say Id ever want to travel across the country with two cats again!

I was concerned that the material of this bag wouldn't be very heavy based on the pictures. However, I needed a divided carrier and there aren't a lot of choices, something I think is a really big oversight considering how many people have multiple pets these days. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived as the material is nice and heavy and the carrier is very roomy. The Large size is definitely big enough for two average to slightly above average sized cats. If your cats are absolute monsters, I would consider the XL. Also, the pad for the bottom is very cushy and when I placed one of my cats, who hates carriers, in to check the size, she actually liked it so much she sat in it for about 20 minutes. The dual entry (top and side) are also nice, as are the covers over the mesh. If you order it, the flexible pieces that come with it are meant to go inside on either side of the roof of the carrier, down the long sides. I was confused at first because the supports were already in that go around the carrier and I couldn't find the holders they were talking about to slide the other supports through. Just take a flashlight and shine it down into the carrier to find the holders; my problem was I didn't have enough light shining into the black bad. Overall, a good bag. I can't speak to durability yet as I haven't had it long, but the construction looks good and the materials are nice and heavy and look durable.

I read reviews before buying this bag and so many have raved about it being perfect size for small dogs and even CATS! One even said the weight of her cats and my cats weigh less so I said this bag is perfect so I took a chance! Well I wish I didn’t because “some assembly required” which was kinda weird. Not to mention with all these bendable plastic pieces you had to shove in certain compartments to make it stand still. This bag is a joke and looks extremely uncomfortable for my babies. I wish I would have put it next to the bag I purchased from PetSmart to show that for one it was longer and two it was only $20 and it’s very sturdy that it holds my 13lb tuxedo cat! I hate keeping them separate when I travel to upstate but this bag is NOT WORTH $116.55!!!!! I can see maybe kittens fitting inside with the middle part up but two adult cats that would be VERY CRAMPED I’m not digging it at all! For those out there that raved you must NOT care about your pets being comfortable but only choosing what “works” best with “airlines”. Sorry but these are my babies and I’m not going to put them in this tiny collapsible bag of hell!! Just received it today and it’s being returned today!!!

I have just replaced our Sleepypod Air with Sturdibag Large Divided, overall quality of Sturdibag is much cheaper that Sleepypod, but I like that Sturdibag is larger and lighter, which was the reason why we switched to Sturdibag. I decided to by the Divided one because it has openings from both sides, I have one dog and we travel a lot by Air, train, bus .... and it is Very important to have more access to your animal from every side possible. On the airplane I open both sides because there is just not enough ventilation. Also the inside pad is way to puffy, and why did they make it WHITE?! It is for an animal, I know it does look cute but absolutely impractical, the cover can't be removed from padding so you have to wash the whole thing with the foam inside, so I had to take it apparat get thinner peace of foam and sew a zipper in for easy removal when it needs to be washed. The foam I got is twice as thinner so my dog have more room but it is still soft and comfy. The mesh is very plasticy, I don't like it, I wish it was from fabric like on Sleepypod. I do like that the bag is pretty light, overall I am satisfied, with a few adjustments, I whish the manufacturer put more thought to the product. I highly recommend getting DIVIDED instead or regular one even for only ONE animal. The divider inside easily rolls down so your pet not going to now the difference but he will have two extra openings one from the top and one from the side, trust me it makes a huge difference! We fly Lufthansa and Aircanada.

This carrier was perfect for my Lancashire Heeler. It’s sturdy and doesn’t collapse in on the dog due to the supports that go throughout the frame of the bag. I actually ended up using this bag for just one 18 lb dog by opening the middle door, putting the base padding over it and covering both pads with a potty pad (while on the plane). I liked that this carrier has pockets and two doors on the top, so I could access him no matter which way he was facing. The regular bags only have a door on one side of the top. Also, the zipper clips are incredible!! My dog tried to poke his snout out of other bags and could get the zipper to open. Not with this bag. This is the best bag for travel!!

I ordered this bag for an unplanned and sudden trip across the country. I ordered the large size, but received the XL size instead. I had no time to return it before flying out with my two small (10-12lb) dogs early the next morning so I went to the airport with it anyway, even though it exceeded the carrier size dimensions. At the airport checking in, they did question the size, but I told them that it just looks much larger than it really is and showed them how flexible it was and told them that others I knew had flown with the exact same bag and that it had fit under the seat. They allowed me on and it did fit under the seat in front of me. It stuck out a couple of inches but the flight attendants didn't say anything. Both dogs were able to lie down in the carrier and neither made a sound for the entire 5 hour flight. I flew both ways on Southwest (the only airline I've found that will allow two small dogs in one pet carrier) so I am not sure what other airlines would say, but I will be more confident trying to use it in the future, even though the dimensions exceed those specified by all airlines. It is also very well made. One of my dogs digs and tries to scratch her way out for the first few minutes after being placed in the carrier. She has destroyed other carriers on a single trip by doing this, but didn't leave a mark on this one. It also felt secure while carrying it. I worried about the roundness being awkward on my hip, but it really wasn't, and the vents on both sides allowed both dogs to lie down and have a full view of outside the carrier.

I bought these because I wanted something bigger than the Sherpa Medium carriers, and the Sherpa Large carriers squish into the dog's space when you try to put them under a seat. I ended up returning the Sherpa Larges and got two Studi Large Divided bag, one for each of my two Chihuahuas. I got the divided because i wanted the extra openable mesh flap on the top, but for the trip i just took, i rolled the divider down nice and small and it sat nicely between the two cushions inside of the carrier. The carriers fit GREAT under the seats on our Alaska Air flight. The staff asked if it would fit, and I just said yep and showed it can bow down a little to fit under the seat. I am a little nervous about the under-space of the aisle seat however. It looks a little small, but it might be doable. + Fits perfectly under seat on Alaska Air domestic flight. (sticks out a little length wise, but we didnt have any issues with that.) + Light Weight + Squishes under seat without compromising the space inside too drastically. It just changes shape a little bit. + You can adjust the 4 parts of the shoulder strap to make one side longer so that your pet can travel level while you are carrying the carrier on one shoulder. + You can roll the divider down nice and tight and use for one pet comfortably. + Both my 8 and 5 lb chihuahuas were able to turn around, curl up, lay spread out, and sit with their head sticking out of the top panel comfortably. + The only difference between the divided and non divided versions are there are two velcroed cushions inside, there's a roll-down flap to divide, and there are two openable top flaps so they can stick their heads out. + You can uncover the mesh on the front, back, and top for nice breathe-ability. This is so important. + The bottom pad is nice and soft. + My pups used these as their beds when we were at our destination! I just left the front flap open, and they just crawled right in to have a quiet space.

Incredible travel bag! Make sure you get the large, dbl sided so you have access from both ends and both sides on top. This is my third such purchase and I love them! Big enough to put two cats in one if they don't like being separated during travel. Fit great in the cabin of planes too!

Schnelle Lieferung, die Tasche war gut verpackt und kam schneller als erwartet an. Aufbau war sehr einfach und die Tasche wirkt sehr robust und stabil. Super finde ich auch, dass man sie im Auto gut mit dem Gurt anschnallen kann... Meine Zwerge haben die Tasche sofort erkundet und für gut befunden. 👍🏻 Die 2 wiegen 2,5kg und 5kg und passen super rein, haben Platz genug. Ich bin sehr zufrieden!

Worth every penny Great for airlines and under the seats as it collapses with the fiberglass rods. If not using for aircraft travel other cases are just as good and cheaper.
