Will these work OK for a 5.1 surround satellite speakers? Front and rears?

Yes it will work fine. I use them for rears. However i would recommend you to consider the big brother of these the Micca MB-42Xs and its matching center for the front. if you cant afford it my suggestion is that you start with a pair of MB-42Xs in stereo config and build up to 5.1 as you have more money

Can these be attached to a 3 ft stand similar to the Bose cube speakers? The pics here don’t show how attachment is possible.

The Micca speaker comes with a 1/4" standard thread in the back. That is what you would use to mount these. If you can have a 1/4" threaded bolt or stud attached to your 3 foot stand, they will work.

Can these speakers connect to my Mac air pro lapto?

You could use these with anything that has an audio-out port, such as a headphone jack which I assume the Mac Air has. HOWEVER, these speakers are not self-powered, so you MUST have an amplifier of some kind to power them and be the "in-between" your audio source and these speakers. I pair mine with a cheap Lapai LP-2020A+ and they sound fine - not amazing, but good. If space is not a huge consideration for you consider getting the Lapai LP-2020A+ amp ($27) and Micca MB42s as these sound much better ($48, only $8 more than the Covo-s). You'll also need a audio jack to connect from the Laptop to the Lapai amp, and speaker wire from the amp to the speakers. Hope that helps.
