Great Value For Money
This is a great box set of 8 DVDs, covering topics such as Prelude to War, The Nazi Strike, Divide and Conquer, The Battle of Britain, and The Battle of Russia not forgetting the Fury in the Pacific. Just check out the cost of the individual DVDs in this collection then you will see that you have a Bargain. But don't expect a Holywood Directed CGI presentation. Seven of these films were shown to US military personnel, so quality is not priority, but the information content is. Top Marks.

Not the run-of-the-mill WWII bos set.
The first six DVDs are a seven part U.S. Government publication (Russia I & II on DVD 6) and are genuine footage aimed atthe audience of the time because there are parts that make this obvious.... the Battle of Britain disc/film mentions only ''sound detection''but never Radar or RDF as it was. The Atlantic War feature never mentions Ultra or the Enigma machine............it's a real period piece andI enjoyed because of that.Just as an after-thought... I bought a DVD box with provision for eight DVDs and photocopied the original as a sleeve... just a thoughtbecause the box is of a size that certainly won't fit on your DVD shelf!

Absolutely first class. Great detail shown in all sections. Even the extras are of considerable interest. Balanced views of allied forces. It is easy to say that the German people got what they deserved, as after all they started it, but the horror and destruction dished out to them makes one realise that this war was a ghastly human disaster. One should also reflect on what can happen when government runs out of control. The government agencies were armed and the population were not.The EU came about because of it. May be we should reflect on that when considering ourposition in Europe.

Very interesting old footage. Well worth the cost.
Very old footage, as close to a realistic view of the war as you could get. I remember watching these at school as part of our introduction to history, and they were really interesting. At this stage in life, unless you had parents/grandparents directly involved, then it's your first introduction to British military history. So it's both interesting and nostalgic!

Absolutely fab
If you need to no more about the war u can't go wrong with this collection I got it for my fella and his dad borrowed it and his mate, even I found it fascinating, so much I never new, a must have for education and a great price, super fast delivery, defiantly recommended 5 stars

Brilliant
This was a present for a neighbours birthday. She absolutely loved it

Very poor quality
The picture quality rates as about the worst I have ever seen, just like looking into a foggy day with poor focus. It is also true to say that the disks were put back in the wrong place and the box was not correctly packed. In addition the package arrived 2 days later than stated.All in all not worth the money.
