SHURFLO94-238-04 Diaphram Pump with Lower Housing Kit

My pump developed a small leak in the side where the seme is so I ordered this kit. Before I installed this kit my pump always spun slowly like it was struggling. It turns out the original twenty-year-old diaphragms were a little bit stiff and that's where the resistance was. So installing this kit actually made my pump build up pressure faster and move more water. I previously left this pump on for days spinning dry and I've been using it in my travel trailer which has been used 80% of the past 20 years and the pump motor is still holding up well. I've seen my friends go through several cheaper pumps through the years but the best value if you plan on using more than a couple years is definitely this brand.

Didn't have to buy the whole thing

Very easy to unscrew the cap to the pump, put these in and screw back together. Solved the problem of a pump running but little or low pressure. Typically need this after you run the pump dry for a long time....on accident.

Nholy1 reviewed this product and it was the same problem I was having. I took a chance with their review and it fixed my problem! If your pump is leaking or spraying water from the two parts that screw together this part will fix your problem. You see there is no gasket where they join together. This part is the gasket. My pump has lasted 5 years using it to water my garden with a rain collection tank yearly before it started leaking. $40 might seem like a lot but, if it works for 5 more years it's worth it. I couldn't tell from the parts diagram or reviews what part actually seals the two halves of the pump, so I ordered both this part and the diaphragm valve. This part is the one that has the seal integrated into it.I went ahead and did both - be sure to carefully assemble both prior to installing as it is easy to not get the groove lined up and the actual seal up around the diaphragm valve!

I’m not happy with the output pressure. It’s less than the pump I replaced. But, it was easy to replace the worn out pump.

Needed to rebuild a Shurflo 2088 water pump in my RV. Note that there are 2.8 gal/min and 3.5 gal/minutes in the same model. I put the 3.5 gal/min kit to my 2.8 pump head, and the fit was good.

Recieved the product super quickly... installed it (easy as pie) and have not tested it. Looks good, should be okay. Will modify this if there is an issue when I put the pump back in the trailer.

I replaced the pump in our trailer this past spring when the 14 yr old pump wouldn't draw water from the tank. Put this kit on the old one and will use it to transfer water from my big jugs in the truck to the trailer when boondocking.A lot cheaper than buying a new pump.

Very easy to install. Quite expensive for this part only. Maybe is it better to buy a new pump ?
