Perfect for urban commute. Met all my needs. Changed my life :) -updated
I've been riding the newest model for a couple of weeks and I have to say there are many improvements compared to the older model which was already a great scooter. The company has been great to work with and cares about their product.I am a girl, 5'2, 130 lbs and travel around 4-6 miles an hour on this thing. I use for my daily commute downtown on streets, hills and sidewalks.WEIGHT: It is heavier at 13.5 lbs. Scooters under 13 lbs have a much higher risk of accidents- they can wobble at high speeds. I can carry the scooter if I need too. I am looking for a strap to make it easier.FOLDING: Be patient! There is a trick and once you figure it out it's a piece of cake. Take your weight off the scooter, push the handles forward, press the lever with your foot and it will gracefully fold back. Make sure the locking hook is in place before picking up.DECK: This deck is higher off the ground and has a plastic material on the bottom which is imperative! There are certain driveway/sidewalk type curbs that can be very dangerous. The higher deck and the plastic allow the scooter to clear the dips and not "stick" which metal bases do. I would choose this scooter over others because of this. It's a good size for my feet with plenty of room (women's 7).HANDLES: They are super comfortable. I won't have to replace these. The handle bar height is perfect. I put on the highest level.WATER BOTTLE HOLDER: It is removable and I had to remove it because my knee hits it.WHEELS: Great quality wheels. I think they are the same as the previous model. I rode the heck out of my previous scooter and those wheels are still kickin like new.SHOCKS: These shocks are not too loose. They make urban scooting easy. Dual is a must!BREAK: I'm having some trouble with it compared to the previous model. But yes it does break. I'm going to do some break tests and report back.SAFETY: Whatever you do wear a helmet. I am serious. SERIOUS.Overall I love this scooter and it's a great price. It gets me from A to B without any hassle, right out of the box.For more tips and to learn the ways of the scooter lifestyle read my previous review:I am 31 year old female and weigh 125 lb. I live in downtown Austin. I have never ridden a scooter before. I have had this scooter for 1 year. I ride 1 mile to work and back every day and I have to walk hills because I get down to walking speed. It takes me 8 minutes and 45 seconds to get to work (.09 mi) and if I walk it takes me 22 - I have a short gate and there are lots of traffic lights :)The first week I had trouble at fast speeds with the handlebars shaking. I thought maybe a design flaw but over time I got stronger. I can now take my hand off to check my apple watch for a second or two.Breaks: It is really fast down hills. The break works but there is a speed limit. The frame is super flexible so if you are trying to stop quickly you can pull your body away for the handles. You can't really jump off of it when you are trying to break at a high speed so you can seriously hit the side of a car around a blind corner. Sidewalks are dangerous with peeps opening doors. At Night and Safety: No one can see you. I bought a runner's belt with a flashing red light (it's also a reflector) and strapped it around my backpack. Get one it will save your life. It is the width of my body so cars can guess where I am in the dark. I took off the stickers and put on Nathan yellow reflectors. WEAR A HELMET!Carrying it: I go to bars and restaurants and events after work all the time. It is fast to fold up so I'm not standing outside very long. I can fit it under a table. In crowded places when I'm carrying it people are annoyed. I leave it at the door sometimes. I have carried it 2 miles when I was walking home with a friend. Shoulder hurt a little next day. I am going to buy a comfortable luggage or guitar strap. Overall it's not that heavy. I just bought a bike lock on the occasions that I might need but haven't yet.Coolness and Quality: I look like a badass even though scooters aren't cool yet in Austin. It doesn't look like a Razor. It's mean looking and slick. Guys hit on me all the time. I don't normally wear tennis shoes but I had to buy them. I found some vision street wear women's fit skate shoes on amazon that are adorable and comfortable. Skate shoes are the best. Traditional tennis shoes stick to the grip tape and you can trip.Strength: I ride the heck out of it. It's strong - super solid frame.Shocks: Dual shocks is the way to go on urban streets. It is very bouncy which makes it fun and flexible over uneven concrete. It is not loud. Not sure if shocks eventually wear out or how to handle that. I can't go off a curb yet - probs not likely.Flaws: Within the first month the folding mechanism handle broke. I can't fix it BUT now it's easier to fold. I push it forward then it releases and then folds smoothly. Make sure to put the clamp handle back on. You will know because it makes a rickety sound. My concern is the break wearing over time and how to replace that. The strap has a plastic connector and they wore out in a year. The part on the scooter that holds the plastic connect broke as well. The handle bars wore out so I replaced with fancy comfy bike ones. So 4 stars instead of 5.When comparing to others: It's affordable. It's a mid-weight at 11 lb. (range is 8-15 lb). The deck is big enough but a tight space (I'm size 7 W). No kickstand but you don't need it. Folds - you have to get the hang of it. It has larger wheels for urban use. Crappy strap but it has one. Dual shocks: perfect for urban street riding. I would not buy a scooter if it didn't have all this. Black color is solid looking and you can add your own flare with stickers.I haven't crashed and burned yet. (fingers crossed). This scooter has changed my way of life.

Solid scooter, replacement one works great.
Riding it outside it can cruise over sidewalks much more easily than my old Razor scooter with smaller wheels and no shock absorbers. You still feel every bump and groove of the pavement more than you would on a bicycle, and riding over a section of sidewalk that's made of brick gives you an invigorating massage as if you were holding a jackhammer in your hands, but overall a larger scooter like this is a fun compromise between walking and riding a bike.I like the way the handle-bars can fold down and snap to the sides of the steering column, actually now that they have this approach they could have made the handlebars wider so you don't need to hold them both so near the center, but that's a minor issue. The handlebar height is adjustable and works fine for me, although I'm a fairly short guy and I have them adjusted at their maximum height. To stop suddenly or slow down in a hurry I'd just put my foot down, but if you want a way to gently reduce your speed a bit while gliding down a hill, the rear kick brake works great. You keep going, but can lean on it as much as you want to regulate your speed.I have edited this review to refer to the 2nd scooter I tried. The first one I received had a wonky lock/unlock mechanism that didn't click into the upright position as it was supposed to. Even though it has a complex approach including a quick-release lever on one side, a lever you press forwards on the other side to unlock it, plus some adjustment screws you can tweak with included tools, the first one just couldn't snap into a locked position without completely removing some parts. No problems with the replacement, though, it locks open solidly and can be folded/unfolded without trouble or any need for adjustment, so I have upgraded my reviews to 5 stars now that I have one without any issues.

Awesome scooter for adults
Just received my scooter today in the mail. It arrived 2 days early!!! This scooter is well built and lots of fun. I'm 5'10" 180, I just went 6 miles on our local bike trail and I was not even tired nor did my legs hurt. I did a lot of research and I'm 100% sure I picked the right one. My wife tried mine out and now she wants me to order her one as well. The shocks work great and makes the ride more enjoyable on your knees. When you do receive yours make sure you tighting everything, and it does come with wrenches as well.

Awesome Scooter
The aeroactive adult and teen scooter is the coolest scooter ever. I was super excited to purchase this scooter for a gift for my nephew for Christmas. He loves scooter and has outgrown most of them out on the market these days. Its lightweight weighing in at 13.5 pounds makes it easy to transport to where ever my nephew goes. The adjustable height is to cool because of the fact he is still a growing boy. It will adjust with him as he gets taller. The aeroactive scooter is easy to fold up and lay in the back of the truck or too stashed inside a closet to keep it put away. It has dual suspension and has bigger wheels to make the ride smoother and safer.Overall this scooter is awesome and I am extremely happy I purchased this scooter and was able to make my nephew so happy with it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a new scooter.

Smooth ride for even tall adults (6'5")
This just arrived today. I'm 6'5" and the handlebars were plenty high for me (@ the highest position). Very easy to ride even with my weak legs - you can really feel the muscle getting worked on whichever leg you put on the board to balance yourself. My only concern is the disproportionate muscle tone I'll develop :PThe dual shocks are *very* responsive. When I first stood on it with my full weight, it almost bounced back up. Slowing down is pretty intuitive if you've ever used a skateboard or rollerblades.. lean back onto the gizmo. There's no handbrake and the resistance from the "fender-brake" isn't enough to stop you.Overall, a very enjoyable way to get around downtown. As long as you aren't in a hurry and it's 90 and humid... then you'll be soaked.
