The maneki-neko is a common Japanese figurine often believed to bring good luck to the owner. It is also translated as "beckoning cat". The figurine depicts a cat (traditionally a calico Japanese Bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed-often at the entrance-of shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, and other businesses. It makes perfect sense to offer Maneki Neko Cat in the form of a money bank; To accumulate wealth and good fortune! Maneki neko beckoning cats can be found with either left or right paw raised and sometimes with both hands raised in a "banzai" pose. Originally maneki neko had their left hands raised as Japanese traditionally drank from sake cups with their left hands and poured it with their right hands. To be called a left-hander or "lefty" was to be acknowledged as a drinker and socialite. Thus left hand raised has the meaning of beckoning friends and welcoming good fortune, happiness and harmony.

A great piece of Art and functionality
We had one much like it for years and it hit the ground shattering into chunks and pieces. It had been such a staple in our home decor that when we saw this one, we ordered it immediately. We are really happy with this kitty, its quality and already have it facing the front door, where former kitty used to hang out. Funny that after placing it in the appropriate area, we felt a lifting of bad Qi in that area and its presence is much appreciated once again.Everything is as it should be.

Even Luckier when Full
Some of these Nekko Lucky Cats have two banners across their chest, while others, like this only have one. I don't know the significance, but it will hold ALOT of folded dollar bills in the back bank slot. This is huge and brightly-colored. A great way to save as you have to cut the bottom out to retrieve the goods!

A Very Welcomed Cat, Indeed ! πΈ
I bought this for an artist friend who loves cats and he was very please!I bought the 12" tall one and it arrived to his premises packaged well and undamaged. I am very happy with my purchase and I will surely be back to buy one for myself for goodluck and to make me smile everytime I come home! πΈπ

Too cheaply made
Cheaply made - there is no plug at the bottom to take coins out - just felt covering a hole. Wish I would not have wasted my money

Very Pleased with Kitty
Nicely wrapped and it looked how it was advertised. I was surprised that it actually had whiskers. I will likely order other products from this company.

it is so beautiful, and well made. This is Our Lucky Cat
We've been looking for years for a Lucky Cat Bank like one we saw many years ago. This is like the biggest joy to finally add in our home. Well made, and so cute!

Great Maneki Neko!!!
I found the item To be very giftable and thickness, but it was not describable as having sheerness. It is a beautiful piece, detail work is excellent, and it was a tremendous value. I thought it would make a wonderful gift, and I did gift it to my wife -She LOvED it.

Happy fortune!
Super cute, wasn't expecting him to have little (nylon?) whiskers but it definitely added to the charm. My friend collects these so it was a nice gift for father's day!
