Plan for 1 year obsolescence.
Admittedly, I'm a sleephones addict. Once I bought my first pair of wireless ones I was hooked because they're convenient and my nightly habit is to fall asleep listening to podcasts or audiobooks. That said, They die in 10-13 months, like clockwork. The wiring in the main unit fails. In the past I've just come to accept this. I usually have two units so I can switch them out nightly and if for some reason I fail to charge one, I have a backup - and if I have to send one off for warranty repair/replacement, I'm not without a device for an entire week or so. It's just the routine I've come to accept, and that's when I'm lucky enough for one to have failed within warranty replacement timeframe.Last year sometime I dumped even more money in to move from the Wireless Sleephones to the Effortless Sleephones hoping that perhaps without the repeated push/pull of disconnection to charge it might help it to last longer, but lo an behold, my second-newest, purchased last June, stopped charging wirelessly. I sent it in a couple weeks ago, as usual. This morning I went to my mailbox and my warranty replacement unit was there, but for the first time ever (and this is my third warranty replacement on a unit) it was accompanied by a "care instructions" sheet with a line highlighted, implying that I've been keeping my unit in a "wet, oily, or dirty headband."I'm caught somewhere between tickled and insulted.1) The product is great when it works but it always stops working in relatively short order. It's simply a matter of trash components.2) I have never had it in neither a wet, nor oily, nor dirty headband. If I were ever lazy enough to want to keep it in a dirty headband that wouldn't work anyway because a wash/dry cycle is necessary to tighten up the headband a bit. Otherwise it stretches out to the point of uselessness.3) This being my SIXTH unit, I can assure you I've done everything (including talk to someone at the company before) to try to take care of these as gently as possible given my heavy usage. It's my sixth unit to die in that 10-13 month timeframe ... and that's not taking into account that now I have two and so each only gets used every other night. It makes me wonder if they use their own products. In any case, I'm done. Instead of what's essentially a yearly $150 subscription fee to use Sleephones I'll bother taking the time to find a better product from a company that won't passive-aggressively insult their customers. :D

I wanted to love this - Here's why they just won't work
If you're like me - you need headphones to sleep. I've used the cheaper Amazon models - the Lavince and MusicCozy brand over the years and have been extremely satisfied. But - if those are $20 dollars and these are $149 dollars, maybe there was something I was missing - something amazing that would be life changing about going with a more expense sleep headphone. SleepPhones advertised to me excessively, and I finally caved and bought them. I wanted to love them. Within 3 hours of fidgeting with the band at night, needing to readjust all of the sloppy components, and feeling the sensation of the band moving all over the place, I had to give up - and put my old 20 dollar ones back on. Even though they are only 20 dollars, they have NONE of the issues I will explain below. While they are cheaper, they also have a feeling of being a complete, finished product.Don't get me wrong - this product is a great idea - but fails terribly in execution. This product seems like an unfinished prototype that was rushed to market - and it shows. For any set of headphones, especially ones that you plan to sleep with - you want them to essentially disappear when you put them on. These do anything but that. The speakers are very thin - YES. That's the one single saving grace. Everything else is a mess.1. The electrical component is massive and has plugs and wires that are bulky - and trust me, you can feel them. The headphones are designed to have these in the back - which sort of makes sense. The only problem is that when ever the back of your head touches something - like a pillow when you move - the buttons are being pushed. The track changes, the volumes changes, or both.2. So then, you have to adjust the volume or change back the track. Now, you have to use your fingers to feel around for the sloppy electrical component that moves all around inside the band and is not fixed. Like Braille, you have to feel around for the buttons, figure out which is which, and readjust the track or volume. It's extremely frustrating. Every time you go to make an adjustment - its a new experience because it moves around inside the band.3. There is no way to fix the speakers to stay in position. Any time you move - even a little bit - with your head on the pillow, you have to readjust the speakers to be over your ears or you can't hear anything. I use headphones to relax - but these stressed me out and caused me such frustration just trying to keep the speakers over my ears.3. The fabric of the breeze model moves around a lot on your head. I used their size guide and I am right in the sweet spot for a medium. The size is right - and when I am not laying on a pillow, they are perfectly comfortable. But remember, these are SLEEP PHONES. When you lay down on a pillow - any time you move your head, the fabric stays in place and your head rotates. You can feel the sensation of the entire fabric piece rotating around your head. Because the fabric is moving, the ear phone on the non-pillow side moves. Another adjustment is needed. You can feel these on your head at all times - which is a major sleep distraction.4. "Effortless Charging" What a joke. It took me at least 5 full minutes to align the magnetic parts and get the thing to charge. Remember, the electrical component is sloshing all around the guts of this band - so you have to find it, figure out which side is which, fold up the band, and hover this thing over the charging unit until the magnetic parts connect. It took me WAYYY too much time to get the thing to connect to the base and charge. It should be effortless - but it takes WAY MORE EFFORT to use the effortless charging station than to just plug the thing in.5. Here's the best part - who ever is their designer or engineer should be fired. As if the "effortless charging" needed to be more complicated - you need to make sure the green light on the charging station starts blinking. Instead of putting the indicator light on the front of the station where you can see it, they put it on the BACK. So you have to turn the entire thing around backwards to be able to see it - so the electrical plug comes out of the FRONT. Just, terrible terrible execution.Bottom Line - This is a premium headphone. It feels like a sloppy prototype. There are FAR better options on amazon in the 20 dollar range that look and feel like a finished product. The cheaper versions are far more comfortable, don't slide around on your head, the speakers are fixed so they stay in place - and they truly disappear on your head. Save your money - look up Lavince or MusicCozy. Stay away from this unfinished prototype.

This is not a sleepmask.... it is a headband
I had been using a twenty dollar Bluetooth sleepmask purchased from Amazon that I liked but thought that I could find something better. Read the reviews for SleepPhones and ordered with Breeze fabric and wireless charging. Using them the first night I really liked the thin speakers but the Bluetooth battery was like a brick no matter how I moved it around and the Breeze fabric is quite thin which offered no padding or did it help to muffle noise so I ordered a fleece headband directly from AccousticSheep. This helped however I still couldn’t seem to get the battery anywhere that I didn’t feel it was sticking in my head. Most nights I ended up using my old sleepmask. Sadly I am returning them. If you are looking for a sleepmask this is not it..... this is a headband that if you try to put over your eyes is not padded and uncomfortable. It is unfortunate that AccousticSheep does not offer a true sleepmask with Breeze fabric on the inside next to your skin with fleece on the outside and of course some padding for comfort. A smaller battery like the cheaper Bluetooth sleepmasks have would also help. I am hoping AccousticSheep developes a product like this... I would be first in line to purchase one!

Fatal flaws
For side sleepers the speakers become uncomfortable after an hour or so pressing on the ear cartilage. The speakers also must be aligned fairly precisely over the ears to hear anything. This is difficult because they move rather freely within the hollow headband, and is further complicated by by the fact that the stretchy headband itself tends to move around. On the positive side, the headband itself is comfortable. The sound quality is surprisingly good. The charging pad takes a little getting used to, but finally does work. All in all, a noble effort, but doomed by fundamental design issues

Too expensive for what they are :(
I unfortunately have to return these. I was really treating myself when I first bought the regular wireless ones that need to be plugged in to be charged. I liked them ok, but the medium was too big, and I thought “oh why not go all out and get the Effortless in the smaller size!?” I did so. What came was marked with a sticker that said XS/S. They were definitely small. TOO snug. I quickly realized that it’s a big pain trying to get the headband situated perfectly on the charging base so that it actually charges. It’s very easy to accidentally bump out of place once you do, since the 2 magnetic “buttons” are not very strong. With as much messing around as I have to do to make sure they are charging, what’s the point? It’s not effortless at all. I hated having to pull the plug out of the headband every morning to charge my first pair, and these ones take even longer to get charging. Not worth $80 extra for me.There’s way too much room for the speakers to move around (same with the internal battery pack/remote) and I have to move them back into place every time I put them on. Some sort of Velcro might be nice to give them some staying power.I had hoped the speakers would be a least a little more cozy than the cheapo ones ($20 Chinese headband from here on amazon), but nope. I am just as prone to waking up with sore ears with these as I have been with any others. That’s pretty disappointing.I really wanted more of a eye mask/headphone combo, and if I wore these backwards, it worked ok, but not very full coverage.I really have nothing to say about the audio quality. I wasn’t blown away, nor did I think it was bad. I’m primarily listening to spoken audio to fall asleep, and not overly loud, so as long as it’s clear, I’m happy and these were.Ultimately I am going back to the cheap ones, just trying different Bluetooth brands. If they make a new version with a better charger (like a Apple Watch, for example, where the fit is tight and strong and you can’t put it in wrong even if you try), I might look at these again, and maybe an option of a more face mask than headband... but only if there’s a drastic price reduction which is unlikely. The cheap ones are just as good, and if there’s a problem, I can buy 7 more for the same price as these.

best headphones for sleeping
I like the Effortless version for the wireless charging. I had the bluetooth version where you have to unplug the speakers to charge them and after a couple of years I inevitably bent a pin in the connector and broke them. I find the Effortless version much easier to keep charged. I have found that it is easier to place the charger base on top of the headphones rather than placing the headphones on the base. Doing it this way you can easily see the charging light and ensure it is connected properly. After some practice I now find it very easy to be confident that the headphones are charged and ready to go every night.

This is not worth the money
Don't waste your money and time! This so-called "Effortless" wireless headphones product is very cheaply made. That was my first impression when opening the package. My first impression was confirmed once I took this piece of crap in my hands and felt the fabric and saw how it's made. Then, trying to pair it for approximately 15 times, resetting it as per their instructions in the box. I was unable to do so. I've paired many headphones and other devices to my smartphone before with some problems at times but I eventually managed to pair them. Not so with this terrible product. You've been warned, friends. Amazon please, take this piece of crap out of your shelves if you want people to continue buying from you.

Charger arrived damaged, Amazon providing no option to replace.
The headphones arrived, I put them on the charging base for 3 hours as per the instructions before using, then paired them with my devices they worked great! Only after wearing them that evening til the charge ran out did I notice that the charging base was not working properly, the light wasn't on, and it wasn't charging the product. So I got one use out of the headphones. Amazon doesn't seem to allow me to exchange only the defective part of the order, they only offer a return to sender for refund option, which requires original packaging, which I disposed of as soon as I determined the headphones worked. So now I basically have a $200 paperweight.Edited to add: Contacted the manufacturer directly, and they have offered to replace the defective charger. Will revise my review and rating once I receive the replacement.

Bought these. They do not seem well build. ...
Bought these. They do not seem well build. The wires connected to speakers looks cheap. During the night, the headband slipped out of my head. Hard time to align speakers to my ears. 200$ is too much to pay for a prototype...
