Great Entry Level Camera
I was toying between getting this and the more expensive GoPro for filming a lot of running and OCR events that I participate in. I ended choosing the SJ4000 due to the reviews and the substantially lower price.First of, everything you get in the pack is absolutely amazing. There's all different types of mounts, spare cases (waterproof ones too), straps and screws. So if you ever break or lose a part, you're bound to have a spare there. The camera records in any resolution you want 720, 1080 and between 30 or 60 FPS. It records all footage in segments of 3 minutes rather than just 1 large file, but this isn't a problem. The problem I have is the files are recorded in MOV format which is not recognised by a Windows pc (but is so by Apple), so you'll need to download a codec for your computer which is always risky as they tend to be full of spyware etc.For editing, triming and making actual videos, there is no processing software available for the SJ4000 like there is for GoPro. This is a huge negative as the GoPro Suite is absolutely fantastic for editing videos. Instead I have to use Windows Live Movie Maker (with codec downloaded) to process any videos, and the quality really seems to suffer.I bought a few extra harnesses with this, the chest and head harness. Out of the 2, the head harness is definitely the better one to use.So overall, this is a great entry level camera for someone who is thinking about getting an action cam. Mainly due to the price being so cheap. You'll get great shots and footage from it, even though it would massively benefit from a similar GoPro video editor for it.

Good Camera Alternative to GoPro - MOXI
A great little camera, perfect alternative to expensive GoPros, especially the £99 GoPro Hero the oldest one without an LCD display. Shoots very well, has a good battery life and pictures come out fine as well. It is very small in size, compact yet fragile, so try to keep it sealed in it's waterproof case. The white colour is the most sophisticated and not intrusive.Comes with good amount of mounts for different situations, but not with a mount for cars, so buy separately. Recommend to buy with it the Qumox 32 gb memory card, a stick for holding a camera and an extra charger with battery, comes handy when filming a lot.Cool camera for beginners and amateurs. Came for a good price and well packaged.

Good little camera
Bought this for my travels around Thailand as I needed a waterproof action camera but didn't have the money to buy a gopro. I came along this little beauty. Amazed by the quality of footage and it survived my travels! It was dropped under a waterfall where I thought it was lost or smashed up on all the rocks below as it was down there for a good 30 minutes, it was thankfully found and still working perfectly. It survived being taken down to 30 meters as well which I wasn't expecting. The screen is also a nice little feature that is really good for traveling around.A few bad things - the battery isn't the best but if you have the right settings for the screen it will last long. Found myself buying an extra battery to take around with me. The menu is a little clunky, once you work it out its not too bad. The waterproof casing buttons are a little stiff. Its not going to be the best camera for what you pay for it but its certainly a very good camera for the price. I would highly recommend!

good for the money
I bought the no WiFi version but some optional broke. then I upgraded to this one but it doesn't make any difference for me as the WiFi is not very useful. I thought I could control more the camera with my phone but the functions are very limited. Anyway the video quality is very good for the money, sound in a scooter is not the best (always very windy with any of the cases)

GoPro? Why would you?
Having been after an action cam for a while but not emanating to spend the sort of money a GoPro was up for, seeing the review for this on tech moan convinced me to buy the SJ-4000.I have not used it very much yet but the picture quality is very good and the waterproof casing seems (only used it in an aquarium so far for testing) to work well. The actual camera plastic is not the strongest although is better than I was expecting at the price, BUT this should not put you off as the waterproof casing is very strong and the camera would be used in the case to protect it in case of dropping it. There is an extra back for the waterproof casing within the box that is not waterproof as it has vents in it, these are to let sound in so could be used when cycling or anything else where the camera may get splashed but not submerged in water.Sometimes pressing the buttons is a little awkward but once you are used to it they work fine. The overall quality of the camera, given the price (£70 isn) is excellent, I am not sure why anyone would buy a GoPro over this (unless possible looking for ultimate quality).
