Just be sure on where you want to take them.
Was expecting more from these shoes - they are comfortable and stylish but I was shocked at how poor the soles performed in the wet. Even in damp conditions the traction is extremely poor and this was only on pavement/tarmac and not on more testing terrain. I reached the point of feeling like I could injure myself if not careful. This massive flaw aside I would recommend them as a good trail runner but only in dry conditions. Just strange that a shoe that describes itself as waterproof would be so awkward in the wet.Edit. I have taken these hiking into extremely muddy and wetter conditions and I have been pleasantly surprised. It seems they are not very good on flat/wet surfaces but get them somewhere really challenging and they perform very well. You just need to be 100% sure on where you are taking them. Waterproofing works to a certain degree but plant these up to your shins in standing water and its over. The problem with most waterproof footwear is if they do get water inside then they are very difficult to dry. These however dry well and I'd be interested to see how they perform in the snow.
