C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Kit for Dogs, Poultry flavor Toothpaste with Toothbrush

Can't speak for the toothbrush or the finger brush but the toothpaste is great! All of my cats like the toothpaste. I saw a trick to put a little paste on a treat to ease them into it, so that it at least get in their mouth. I think I've decided to just take my luck and not push the toothbrush onto them. I put a little bit on their greenies and it seems to work. One cat who wasn't taking to the paste, suddenly decided she only wanted her dental treats if they had the paste on it. One cat has teeth issues but since Ive got her on greenies and this paste, I feel like theres been huge improvement to her teeth and breath (on top of her annual cleaning). Another cat that tends to get some tartar build up, still has clear teeth and he didn't have a cleaning this year (per vet). I really think the poultry flavor was key cuz my cats LOVE chicken. The tube will also last quite a while so I think it's great for the price. will buy again

I've been using this dental kit with my dog, and it's made brushing his teeth much easier than I expected. The poultry-flavored toothpaste is something he actually likes, so I don't have to wrestle with him every time it's brushing day. The kit includes both a finger brush and a dual-ended toothbrush, which was nice because I started with the finger brush until he got comfortable, then switched to the toothbrush for a better cleaning. The bristles are soft but effective, and the toothbrush works well for reaching both the front and back teeth. After a few weeks of regular brushing, I noticed his breath was fresher and there was less buildup on his teeth. It's easy to see why veterinarians recommend the C.E.T. line for routine dental care. If you're looking for a quality starter kit to help keep your dog's teeth clean and avoid expensive dental cleanings down the road, this is an excellent choice.

This is my second time buying this kit. My yorkie had her teeth cleaned with a cost of about $500. I wanted to keep the plaque at bay. I bought another brand but I learned that I need to use the C.E.T. toothpaste as it has the enzymes. I do not use the finger brush as I have a small 5lb yorkie. I use the small end of the toothbrush. I put a small amount on the brush and then work on the back molars brushing and making circular motions. I put more on to do the other side. She is very cooperative so I assume the chicken flavor is something she likes. She also knows this is our routine at night. I recommend this toothpaste as I do think it is keeping her teeth white and I don't know of better options. The bristles have held up good, not too soft, not too hard but I thought I could use her first toothbrush for travel and now have a new one for the house.

I have a very small dog, and it has been surprisingly hard to find a toothbrush that works for him. His teeth are tiny, about the size of a grain of rice. I ended up buying five different brushes plus a textured finger brush, and none of them worked very well. One day at a small dog meetup another dog owner showed me this brush. She let me try it on my dog and he actually did not seem bothered by it. That was a big surprise because he usually pulls away when I try to brush his teeth. With this set I was able to brush his teeth more easily. The size feels more manageable for a small mouth, and my dog tolerated it much better than the other brushes I tried. The kit also comes with poultry flavored toothpaste which helps make the process a little easier. Although I did notice his stool was a little loose today, so that is something I will keep an eye on to see if it continues or if it was just a one time thing. So far this is the first brush that has worked reasonably well for my dog. I am hoping it continues to work for us for a while.

(Please see an update at the end of my review.) I’ve used CET Virbac Toothpaste in the poultry flavor for more than a decade. I’ve never had a cat that didn’t love this flavor. It works well and makes toothbrushing much more tolerable for cats like mine who are used to having their teeth brushed. CET Virbac is a brand that many vets sell and recommend to clients, which is why I first started using its toothpaste and toothbrushes with my own cats. I would have a very hard time brushing their teeth without the help of this toothpaste! I have never liked silicone finger brushes, or any brush with silicone bristles, so I have no use for the finger toothbrush that’s included in this kit. The dual-head toothbrush in the kit, on the other hand, is one of my favorites for my cats’ teeth. I only use the smaller, compact side of the toothbrush for my cats’ little mouths. It’s very soft and has a low-profile that allows it to fit in the small space between a cat’s cheek and gums. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet found what I would call a ‘perfect’ cat toothbrush, and I think I’ve tried almost everything. Right now, I’m using two different toothbrushes on each of my cats to get the job done, this brush and the Nyanko Mind Up Cat Toothbrush, also sold on Amazon, which is quite tiny and allows me to get to areas in their mouths that I can’t quite reach with the CET Virbac brush. I’d tell anyone who might ask that brushing a pet’s teeth regularly really is worth the effort (for me it is, anyway). I would not recommend brushing an adult pet’s teeth without first having its mouth checked by a vet, though. Brushing could cause pain or even do some damage if there’s an existing dental issue. So please first check with your vet and get the go ahead before you start brushing. You can also get some great tips from your vet to make toothbrushing work for both you and your pet. Nobody has to get hurt, including the person doing the brushing! After checking with your vet, I think you’ll find CET Virbac products incredibly useful like I have for so many years. 🐱 Update: After writing my review I opened a recent purchase of one of these toothbrush and toothpaste kits. At a glance, everything looks identical. Sadly, the toothbrush has changed. The new toothbrush's bristles aren't as soft. I found the bristles to be a little too firm for my cat's mouth. So although I continue to use CET Virbac's poultry flavor toothpaste, I've stopped using the toothbrush that comes with this kit. I still use the Nyanko Mind Up Cat toothbrushes I mentioned in my original review, but I've replaced CET Virbac toothbrushes with Colgate Kids My First Toothbrush for babies 0-2 years. The bristles are soft and can be softened even more by soaking the head of the toothbrush for 30 seconds in a cup of hot water. CET Virbac, please go back to using the same soft bristles in your dual-head toothbrush that your customers loved!

My dog loves the taste and makes it easy to brush his teeth.

My dog loved the toothpaste flavor and was happy to get his teeth brushed for the first time! Beware! The toothbrush that came in the kit is dangerous. A few bristles got loose! If I didn't notice, my dog could have choked or swallowed them! I am complaining to the company.

I bought this for my 2 month old Chihuahua to begin a tooth brushing routine with her. This toothpaste came with a finger brush, as well as a long toothbrush that has a small brush on one end and a larger brush on the other end. I will probably never use either the finger brush or the larger brush as my Chihuahua is small, but that's okay. I followed the suggestion of first showing my dog the toothbrush and letting her sniff it so that she could become familiar with it. I also followed the suggestion to place a small amount of the toothpaste on the tip of the finger to let her taste it, again so that she could become familiar with it. It is now day 5 of me brushing her teeth and at first she was a bit hesitant and combative, but as the days went on she became more accustomed to it making it easier to brush her teeth. This toothpaste is a little pricey, but it seems to be worth it as my dog has no problem with the taste and given my dog's small size, I believe that it will be a good long while before the toothpaste is finished. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality toothpaste and brushing tools for their dog.

I mean I guess it’s working - I brush my pups teeth every other day and he seems to enjoy the taste of this paste. I got him used to it by giving him tiny bit to lick off my finger before using finger brush. But he’s a mini wiener so finger brush was a bit too big. To my surprise he didn’t mind the brush at all. Start slowly if it’s your first time and let your dog get used to the taste little by little, I make a game out of it.

My dog loves the taste. Brush is very easy to use and seems to do the job. Reasonably priced

En lo general, al no tener una perra grande y que este acostumbrada a que le limpien los dientes, se me hizo muy facil y creo que el sabor de la pasta es un factor muy importante. Me dio un poco de trabajo manejar el cepillo de dientes, sobretodo la parte que tiene la cabeza grande pero tambien viene con una cabeza mas pequeña. Tambien otro cepillo que te puedes poner en el dedo y creo que es mas facil de manejar cuando tienes perros inquietos.

I was not expecting much from this product, but after brushing my cat’s teeth with it I noticed her breath improved almost immediately. Over time I also saw less tartar and plaque buildup on her teeth. She even seemed a little happier and more comfortable, though that might just be me imagining it. It does take some patience to get a cat used to the brushing process, but the fact that the toothpaste is flavored helps a lot since she actually seems to enjoy the taste. Overall, it turned out to be far more effective than I expected and has made a noticeable difference in my cat’s dental health.
