Good one!
I've always enjoyed technology but never managed to understand how computers communicate or how the Internet works. But now, with Ramon's book I have a clear understanding (not only theoretical but practical as well) of how computer networks works and how the devices that are connected within them manage to communicate.

Useful for someone on my knowledge level
This โto the pointโ book was a useful restore of what was hidden somewhere in my head about computer networking. I did not need a lot of time to read it, and I regard it as an intro to a deeper dive into the subject. The language in the book may be a little challenging for someone with English as their mother tongue. There are lots of misspellings and the grammar could be improved here and there, but this is not a big issue for me as a Norwegian. I skipped the last CISCO-oriented part of the book.

Well explained theory, lousy pictures
The book covers all networking OSI levels well and quite clearly. For some reason almost all pictures are unreadable as the font is far too small.

An easy to read and understand for the un-initiated
While there are plenty of books that promise to help you understand the basics of network basics, this book is one of the rare ones that actually deliver that promise. I loved the authors usuage of simple and plain language to introduce and explain topics covered in the book. There are apt analogies between real world situations and network concepts, allowed me to accept the explanation and remember the material being read in an easy way. I must say no book is devoid of errors, this one is no exception, but that didn't deter me to rate it 5 ๐, as the errors are not grave. Some just broke the sentence, but it still conveyed the point. Simplicity rules!

Good book for beginners
Good book to get grip on basics on networking and the knowledge delivered through this book is useful to get deeper into the subject. The explanation is too good. A person with zero knowledge can easily understand the concepts.

Good book but quality could be better
The book is a great introduction to computer networking. I supplemented it with ChatGPT to diver deeper into the concepts (which I didn't expect the book to do since it is aimed at beginner). My biggest gripe is with the quality and accurateness. The book has quite a few typos, isn't formatted that great, and actually has some mistakes. For example in the TCP section, it states the 4-way handshake is: 1. (Client) FIN 2. (Server) FIN-ACK 3. (Server) FIN 4. (Client) ACK When the 2nd step is actually just an ACK (the FIN bit is not set on the TCP segment). There is also a plug for the author's online course at the end of a chapter - I'd expect this to be at the beginning/end of the book instead. It felt like an advert. If the author reads this, please take it as helpful criticism as I overall enjoyed the read and it provided my with great value. It'd be great to get a revision with these issues addressed.
