Really Stand Up
I used to use a particular laptop all the time because it had an extended battery that lifted it a few inches making it easier to type. But, as it showed signs of wear, I had to start using a newer laptop. Sadly, the newer one I had didn’t have an extended battery and there wasn’t one for it either.I had to either use it flat on the desk or prop it up with a book. The book worked intermittently; sometimes the laptop would slide off. I even tried getting a laptop stand – but it the height was way off or the item was too expensive.I saw these on Amazon and thought they might work. I honestly thought they were smaller, so imagine my surprise to see something that looked like a doorstep. BUT …THEY WORK! Absolutely work for me.As soon as I got them, I thought “THEY’RE HUGE”. Durable, strong, and definitely worth the money. I put the book aside and slid these (a pair) under my laptop. The laptop has not slipped off, and I had been using them for over a day when I wrote this review. I have “gently” tried to push the laptop around on my desk – it doesn’t budge. It’s a 17” laptop from HP and these have also helped with the cooling fan issue. To recap from the insert:** Keeps laptop from sliding, slipping, and moving (under “normal” use – none of that is happening)** Won’t scratch/scuff any surface (using this on a bamboo/laminate desk – no scratches/scuffs)** Soft & durable (not so soft, but definitely durable)** Easy to carry (the bag of six is, so I imagine just two of them is definitely easy to carry)** Holds laptop in a comfortable working angle (it could be a teensy bit higher for me, but is doable)** Stackable for adjusted elevation (haven’t tried that)I do recommend these. I paid around $10 for six total (or 3 pairs as they’re best used that way), and with normal wear – I might not need to replace them at all, at least not for about 5 years (maybe more).

Exactly what I needed!! I love the little grooves that help keep my laptop in place.
These stands are the absolute best! I searched for hours to find something that would work for me & these have exceeded my expectations! They're very sturdy. They have little grooves to keep your laptop from moving around/sliding. There are various size holes in the side if you want to keep your cords contained neatly. The stands come with these little plastic "caps" that have adhesive on the ends so that you can attach them to your desk and then slide the stand into the cap end. (I don't use the adhesive cap ends because I tend move my laptop into different areas of the desk.) The stands are wide enough to provide adequate stable support for any size laptop. (My laptop is 17".) Obviously they can be used for any size laptop, tablet, phone, etc due to their design. Overall I am beyond impressed with these stands & very happy that I ordered them. There are 6 in the package, so enough to use with multiple devices. They're definitely a great product, especially for the price! I primarily wanted them to lift my laptop to enable a little extra airflow & I feel like they are doing exactly what I need them to do. I initially looked into cooling pads with fans, but I was concerned that cooling pad fans would just blow extra dust into my laptop's bottom. The shipping was super fast, I had them in a matter of days after ordering.

Sturdy
My husband loves these for his laptop. I on the other hand, do not as they tend to slide too much. They stay still on the table but with the laptop they tend to move too much. I personally think they need more stability and would love to see them sold as one set, not 3 sets (6 each).

The Heat is Gone!
Remember the song by Glenn Frey "The Heat Is On" from The Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack? That's how my laptop felt every day after hours of use. Literally thought that I would burn my fingers off at times. I checked out several different options on how to keep the laptop cool, but since I bounce back and forth around the house from my desk to the dining room table, to the couch, I didn't want to drag around another object to keep the laptop elevated. Then I saw the Smart Stands and thought - THESE ARE PERFECT! I didn't have to worry about whether a stand would be too short or too wide for my laptop, I could place these anywhere I needed them to be, and they would automatically grip the surface and keep the laptop from sliding around while I pounded out article after article. In my haste to order, I didn't even realize that I was getting 6 stands! I thought I was ordering just 1 pair - so when they arrived and I had 3 pairs total - that was just a triple win! Now my son has a pair and my husband has a pair for their laptop too! They fit perfectly underneath my laptop, and it has not heated up ONCE since I've had them! Thanks so much guys for such an awesome little product! I loved it so much that I added it to my Tech & More list!

No sliding. Reduced pain and overheating!
I wasn't sure that my laptop would actually stay put. It does!I use a smooth top rolling white tray table that has no tilt (bought on amazon). My laptop is very heavy and not the sort I tote around (it's built up for gaming). I put a couple of these at the back and the angle is perfect. No more awkward hand placement now. The screen stays at the right view height and I can type without pain.Despite bumping the tray table there's been no sliding at all. I'm all the time walking into the table so if it was going to slide, it would have done it by now.It came with little white "caps" with what I think is peel-off sticky backs but I really don't know what those are for. When I bought these, I didn't see any explanation for them. I can't see myself slapping them up on the wall to store the extras. They come in a bag already and I'm already using all the wedges anyway. There were six in my set, wedge things and caps. I use four between two systems, and the other two as actual door stops and they work great for that too on wood floor/wood doors. I took the white caps off for all of these. No pictures taken since it's kind of obvious what they do and how they'll look.
