Voyage

I expected the poem to be good, Mr. Collins is an award winning poet, but it was Ms. Romagna's illustrations that made me buy this book. So charming and detailed that it was hard to turn the pages...so nice to look at. Anyone who has spent time at New Jersey beaches, (or other beaches for that matter) will be reminded of memories of being a child, or sharing the day there with one. Love it.

A wonderful poem about the joy of reading and imagination. Karen Romagna's illustrations are beautiful. The one for "the boy becomes the book" is especially amazing as an imaginary sword becomes the center of the book's pages during the boy's adventure. Romagna's love for the ocean shines through in her picture book illustration debut.

I have been looking for a book, book about the sea. A book my son could carry around because he loves it too much to let go. so happy to say we found it.

What a delightful book! Not only is it a great poem by Billy Collins, the illustrations by Karen Romagna are evocative of the poem's sentiments while adding a certain charm of their own.
