Excellent bold taste
I love coffee, but only good coffee. The stuff they serve at most places is simply poor. I’ve tried so many k cups. The best is major dickisons, but frankly it’s just not great. I gave away my keurig machine and went with nepresso. Better…..but still not good. But are they are so easy to use. So you sacrifice taste for that convenience. I finally decide to buy a coffee grinder and grind my own beans. What a huge difference. Ok, it’s not as convenient, but it’s worth the taste. Now as to this coffee. First, the price is simply great. Coffee prices have soared. I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised. It has a bold taste without the bitterness. It’s a great cup of coffee.

Not bad, but I expected more
Ok, so it's hard to write a review about something when everyone has a different taste. My wife did not like it all. She'd give it 2-3 maybe. Me? It's a dry bean so it doesn't gum up my grinder. That's good. It smells nice. But when I ground the same amount I'd been using with another Italian coffee (which isn't dark roasted), it tasted stale. It's not, but I wasn't using enough beans. So once I amped up the amount, it tasted much better. And there's the problem. I'm going to be going through more coffee to get the taste I want with another vendor. So I'm giving a 4 because it's a dry bean and I like the taste. But I'm taking off a star because I have to use too much to get the desired flavor.

Bold flavor... Great coffee
This coffee is a bold, flavorful cup of caffeine. I like that about any coffee. The roast is dark and deep. I like a 5 pound bag because it lasts me about 6 weeks. I like to try different coffee beans and different roasts of coffee and this is certainly worth trying.

Campfire in a Cup - Pure Comfort
I’ll pay for coffee. And have. Honestly, there is some correlation between cost and quality, but not in every case. Here is one of those exceptions.Coffee has been both passion and addiction for 50 years, Sumatran and Yirgacheffe being my choices. This is the Sumatran I buy for a simple reason - great freaking coffee whose flavors and characteristics you can explore or just say “ahhhh” to. Deep caramel/chocolate notes; balanced acidity - rounded as it should be with enough bite to let you know it’s still coffee. Deep, medium-heavy overall profile, but runs the palette like silk with a lingering “Sumatran” liquid smoke haze.Taste is a matter of taste. I can’t speak for the 1/2 star ratings for that reason. But to me, this Sumatran is as approachable as it is complex and would be satisfying to the store brand-Colombian buyer as much as it would be to the single-origin Blue Mountain buyer.Enjoy. And spend less. Real value.
