Q: does this play CD rewriteable/recorded

It did for me as long as No scratch on disk very sensitive

Q: Can you plug in a microphone?

I don't think so. There is an AUX-in function which I believe is for connecting other music sources eg MP3 player. Suggest you double check the spec in the Productop Description section as I wouldn't want to mislead you.

Q: can you definitely use headphones with this please?

I bought the monster high headphones to use with it and the connections are wrong-useless!
