Athena, she's a great controller!
Worked just as advertised, but more importantly, has great documentation, so you'll know how to install it!You can have the greatest equipment in the world, but if you don't know how to install it and operate it, it's worthless.I use an LG Blu Ray Player and three Pioneer Blu-Ray / DVD Burners https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H2GTXKS/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_6So far, fantastic results!

I keep getting "write error" message when i try to use duplicator with this new controller (Athena, A0107B). I need new updated bios/firmware in order for the controller to recognize the LG DVD Writers (GH24NSB0B), Samsung DVD Writers (SH-224), and Asus DVD Writers (DRW-24B1ST) I'm using for my duplicator. All attempts to download firmware over the internet have failed. The advertisement of this product when purchased said " It comes with 1 Year Manufacturer's warranty and lifetime Tech Support from knowledgeable customer support staff." I'm just looking for this support in order to get my time working correctly. If you could send me the bios/firmware or a link where i can realistically download them it would be much appreciated.UPDATE!!!Now up to 4 Stars, After going through many blogs in which to try and find the correct Bios/Firmware Update, it finally lead me to www.Ily.com the manufacturer of Athena Controllers. They gave me the bios/firmware in an email attachment and once I updated the controller and drives work fine. Amazon should try and give more information on who to contact. I will give the site of the contact information here below.http://ily.cc/contact.htmlScroll down to:Technical Support: [email protected] them your Model number (Scroll on duplicator to system info in utilities for model number) and give them your current Firmware info also in utilities. Let them know what drives you are using with duplicator as well. They will respond within 24 hrs with the correct bios/firmware update for your controller model. They will also explain how to upload the firmware to your duplicator. They were very nice and professional and wish Amazon would put their link up so others who have this issue can have it resolved as quickly as I did.

This thing is AWESOME!
Update: The price on this has gone up since I ordered mine last month. Still a good unit, but for some reason, you can get the 1-5 cheaper than the 1-3 now. Very strange.I recently had a video order to fulfill that required the burning of almost 400 DVDs and over 70 Blu-ray discs. I had seen a duplicator controller advertised on another technology website, so I began my investigation. Most would write to as many as 11 targets, and a good number of units cost upwards of $100. Then I found this little gem. At first I wasn't sure about it. It says 1-3 targets, but was a lot less expensive than some of the 1 target units I'd been looking at. I went to the manufacturer's website to find out more. I couldn't find any product they offered that wrote to 3 targets! What worried me even more, is that I found several online documents showing the difference between genuine controllers and cheap knock-offs. Then I found my answer - This is a model that they include in their "Spartan" duplicators, so I guess it's not usually sold as a stand-alone controller. How Amazon has these to sell separately, I'll never know... but don't let that stop you from ordering!Pros:You can actually write to 4 targets with this unit! The fifth drive can be a hard drive to store your disc images on and use as a source.I burned hundreds of discs with this, and they all worked flawlessly. This unit is less than half the price of most units that only write to 1-3 targets.I used this with mixed manufacturers/types of burners and it worked just fine.Cons:Not really a con I don't think, but with mixed brands/models of burners, sometimes one would need to stop so the others could catch up. This is probably more like a pro, unless it severely impacts total burn times. I could burn a set of 4 full DVDs in about 6 minutes. I think Blu-ray discs took about 20 minutes, but they were LTH discs, so they usually burn slower than regular HTL BD-R media. If you're on the fence about buying this unit, I say go for it! It's easy to use and hasn't failed me yet.
