This is really needed for bonding flexible materials
Makes a huge difference. I use it to aid bonding rubber parts to hard plastics. Makes a big difference for a lasting adhesion.

Fantastic with cyanoacrylate AND epoxy glues on thermoplastics
Did a crude experiment. Tested both cyanoacrylate glue and loctite 5" epoxy. Glued thermoplastic (polyethylene vs polypropylene?) tabs together with and without the 770 primer. The untreated plastics fell apart during handling, even before I could get them to the testing scale. In The untreated plastic tabs, the glues pealed off, just like elmers glue did off your hand when you were a kid. The 770 primed tabs held supper tight. Used a kitchen scale and applied 2kg of force to the epoxy bonded tabs, and everything held tight. Very Impressive!

all but essential with many materials
used this primer in combination with Loctite 401 (superglue) on some hard-to-glue projects - with MUCH better results than with 401 alone ... product appears to be aimed primarily - IF not solely - on commercial market :-( ... would be nice IF they offered a more consumer-oriented size - AND better consumer-oriented availability

It arrived the day after it was useful to me
Never got to try it.1) Arrived late. It arrived the day after it was useful to me.2) Arrived damaged. It looked like it was years old and the label was partially rubbed away.3) Wrong product. I don't even know what I got, but it sure isn't Loctite 770.

Works well
I apply the primer to plastics, allow a few seconds to dry, and apply cyanoarcrylate adhesive. It helps with adhesion. I have also used it before applying epoxy to plastics.

Sort of worked...
I was in the process of making a mold of a vintage polypropylene bicycle part from the 1950s and it broke. I purchased this because it said it would help promote adhesion of cyanoacrylate on a polypropylene surface. Although the bond was not very strong, I was able to use this to temporarily hold my pieces together just long enough to make a mold of the part.
