Jet22-Inch Lathe Bed Extension, for JWL-1221VS (719201)

Casting was of good quality and lined up nicely with the existing lathe bed with a little tweaking of the bolts attaching to the existing bed and the bolts attaching far end of extension to the support leg. Banjo and tailstock slide nicely over the junction with just a very slight bump. Feels solid when bed extension and stand extension all tightened up. Caution: Be sure you get the stand extension that is designed to go with your existing Jet 1221VS stand: Jet has made two different stands for this model lathe and the stand extensions have to match the model of stand you have. They are NOT interchangeable. The main lathe stand in the bed extension product photo on Amazon is the 719202 stand and the stand extension pictured is Jet 719203. However, the only Jet stand extension Amazon sells is the Jet 719203A which is made to fit only the Jet 719202A stand. They are made quite differently although both very sturdy. Amazon doesn't sell the 719203 stand extension I needed so I had to order it from elsewhere. They are hard to find- most vendors seem to be selling the 719203A. I believe Jet may have replaced the 719202/719203 stand/stand extension with the Jet 719202A/719203A which Amazon does sell. I think the newer one may have come out in 2017. There is only one bed extension for the Jet 1221VS however so at least that is less confusing.

The extension arrived two days early and in perfect condition. I had already extended the work table on which the lathe is mounted in anticipation of receiving the extension. Installation was fast and easy; instructions are clear and direct. The alignment of the extension and lathe bed are excellent. The tail stock and tool rest move easily between the two. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the significant increase in bed capacity.

Mounts and aligns accurately with the lathe. This is what I was looking for. Very pleased with the extension.

Every thing about this lathe is as advertised except the space between the spurs. 20” is the max i could use, The power is more than adequate for the size of the lathe. Fit and finish is top of the line, quiet, vibration free due to the weight and excellent machining, the extension i purchased really makes the lathe a bargain as it’d fit clean and smooth to the main section. I would like to see Jet change the yoke to a 1” tool holder receiver so a longer,wider rest can be used. There are less expensive lathes on the market, some larger but after talking to others i decided to go with the Jet 1221, more power, cleaner machining, very smooth operation. I’d buy it again

Like it very much. Now I can turn table legs as it's longer. I have to build a desk for the wife and she wants the legs turned. My old HF lathe was long enough but when it died I upgraded to the Jet and needed this extension. Which this combo is cheaper than buying a Jet model that is longer.

Fit and finish were as expected. Once leveled, tailstock slides easily between lathe and extension.One minor complaint, I wish it had and outside are for screwing in leveling feet.

Fit perfectly no problem or adjustment need

its nice to be able to slide the tailstock clear out of your way. and obviously the 20" extra spindle capacity is nice too. great $200 spent.
