Men's 501 Original Fit Jeans

My husband has been wearing these for 64 years and these are like home to him. Good quality at a decent price.

I have had quite a history with wearing jeans - there was a phase when I could pass off as a bum, and then another phase when I could pass as a bloated stick figure - and sadly each of those phases (and others in between) have been immortalized in my family photographs. When I opened the box for these and put them on, however, it was like I had finally met my soulmate. The 514 has been variously labeled as a straight fit or a slim straight fit. I believe this should be correctly labeled as a slim straight fit. However it is nowhere close to being skinny. In my opinion these are best suited for my body type (I am 180cm and 178lbs - with relatively slimmer legs). They hug the thighs just so correctly and do not feel baggy. They look equally great with moccasins and sneakers - though hang a little loose at the end with my dress shoes. I haven't had a chance to wear them with boots - but I think they would do okay with boots as well (I do not like bootcuts). The Dirt Rush color is very neutral - a little bit lighter than it appears in the photograph (not necessarily a bad thing) - and looks more greenish in sunlight - however very subdued. Overall, a great purchase - and I will definitely buy more colors in the same 514 style.

These are a classic but they are not shrink to fit. They run 3 sizes too small in the waste for me.

First time purchasing raw denim. I've gotten three of these 501's now and use them quite regularly. Excellent pants. Don't shrink as much as I expected. Minimally in the waist and a couple inches in length. My first were 31x38's, but my next were 30x36's. I recently got a third pair of the same dimensions of the second. Only difference is that they are made in Mexico. Might just be my imagination, but these ones seem much tighter. Uncomfortably so in some places. Especially the posterior. I like the look of them when they're brand new. Best pair of jeans I've ever owned. The way that I've found to work best is to wear them as long as possible between washes. I don't like my pants to smell at all. So this can be as long as a few months or only a couple weeks. I've found that putting them overnight in the freezer removes a lot of the smell by killing off most odor causing bacteria.

Can’t go wrong with Levi’s

I recently purchased the 511 Levi's Skinny "Sand Dune" wash of jeans. I unfortunately had to return them to Amazon. I regularly have purchased Levi's 511 Jeans in the past, so I was looking to replace an old pair. The image that Amazon has for the "Sand Dune" wash is a picture of the the Levi's Jeans I was looking for. The only problem, is that when I received the jeans in the mail, they were not the jeans in the picture. The jeans I received in the mail were a silver, polyester-tinted, made in china version of the pants I was hoping to receive. The original "Sand Dune" wash 511s, that I own, are constructed of 98% Cotton and 2% Lycra. They are made in Mexico. In the inside of the top of the jeans, they are lined with the proper Levi's tags and finishing. The new 511 "Sand Dune" wash version I received from Amazon was made of 58% Cotton and 42% Polyester. They were also made in China. The had none of the inside finish work or labels that my original Levi's have. The back label also felt like plastic, not like leather. These new cheaper-constructed Levi's are not worth buying. If you inspect the price label of the new Levi's, the materials used, and the inside "Levi's patch", you will notice that they all differ from Levi's produced in the last 5 years. The new, cheaper Levi's have white price and SKU tags instead of the traditional black tags (you can find Quality-made Levi's at a Levi's store with the black price tags, but the price is going to be far more expensive then you're probably willing to spend for jeans). In the new, cheaper versions you will find washes with considerably more synthetic materials, like polyester. You will also notice that these newer produced washes do not even have the inside finishing or inside Levi's patch. The overall feel of their new denim is also thinner, and less supportive to the overall structure of the pants. All in all, if you want to buy these cheaper Levi's alternative, don't buy the "Sand Dune" wash. There is a very dark wash though, that is 100% cotton. I have inspected this wash in stores and the only problem is that the overall feel of the pant is thin and almost canvas-like. If you really want a brand new pair of Levi's, I do recommend going to an actual Levi's store. You will pay more, but you really are paying for quality. Keep an eye out for the darker and black price labels. Stay away from the white ones. Inspect the inside and make sure they have the correct finishing and Levi's patch. Think about it this way...you spend $30 for a cheap-quality Levi's. They last for 6 months before falling apart. Spend twice the amount on a more sturdy pair, they will last twice as long. On an ending note, Amazon's return services and policies are great, and work great. I will continue to shop from Amazon, but I will be a little more weary of purchasing clothing.

Questi jeans Levi's 501 hanno sostanzialmente soddisfatto le mie aspettative, pertanto ritengo adeguata una valutazione di quattro stelle. I pantaloni vengono forniti all'interno di una busta originale, che li protegge più che efficacemente. I pantaloni sono indubbiamente di buona fattura, anche se la vestibilità è veramente ampia. A livello di stile si tratta di un jeans classico, infatti il 501 è il jeans classico per definizione. In generale un bel paio di pantaloni. Ottime finiture e grande cura per i dettagli. Purtroppo la guida taglie si è dimostrata un pò sbilanciata verso il largo. Come conseguenza, I pantaloni sono un pò troppo larghi, in particolare sui polpacci. Il tessuto risulta molto spesso, ottimo per la stagione fredda ma non molto per quella estiva. Guida taglie a parte, consiglio l'acquisto di questo prodotto, che mi è stato consegnato con spedizione Prime nei tempi previsti. Sono disponibile per ulteriori dettagli tramite la sezione domande.
