I spent a lot of time looking at reviews before deciding to buy this particular make and model. My old corded Philips 2405 rotary could not be maintained and the initial choice was a rotary or foil head shaver. As I have a short beard it soon became evident that this reciprocal type trimmer would be better suited to my age and needs, where before I used scissors to trim.The Braun BT7040 may not be the cheapest on the market or has the most attachments but does seem to be a very well designed machine, having won several German design awards in 2018. The depth of cutting is set on a dial on the machine itself, although this actually moves the comb attachment in relation to the cutting head. The attachments lack a wider shaving head or nose trimmer and instead the kit includes a Gillette Fusion 5 razor with two blades for wet shaving, which is rather disappointing given the quality and thought shown elsewhere. The 4 star rating is partly because of this lack but also because the kit supplies a twin pin transformer that hangs awkwardly from the shaving socket with a stand that is lightweight, easy to knock over and does not house attachments. Other manufacturers may not match the trimmer quality and durability but provide more extras at less cost to enable a full grooming kit.A good buy overall and one that I am glad to have bought prior to any difficulties and price hikes due to Brexit.

Ordered this trimmer for doing my much-needed lockdown hair cut. The range of length that this trimmer offers with the adjustable combs is great. The set includes 2 combs 1 for 1 to 10mm and the other 11 to 20mm adjusted using a wheel on the trimmer body. very easy and simple to use.I have particularly thick hair and although it took a couple of passes and is by no means the same cutting power as a more expensive model it did the job well. using the smaller comb I was also able to trim my gentleman's region with ease no nicks or tugging so I'd say its also suitable for man or indeed woman scapping.The other included heads that are easily swappable are a foil trimmer and a smaller trimmer head. neither are anything special and not something I will be using since intended for beard maintenance and I prefer a clean shave. I do however use the included Gillette razor which is little more than a glorified and more expensive Gillet Mach 3 which I used before.all in for the money its a prety good buy would recommend.

I finally got fed up of using my Philips One Blade after the plastic comb fell off as I was trimming my stubble resulting in me having to have a clean shave so it could all grow back again. Even if it wasn’t for that I found it a struggle to use and it required multiple passes for it work and even when it did, the finish wasn’t great.I started researching other shavers and decided on this one in the end. There are some cheaper models available but I liked the idea of the charging dock so went for this one. I would definitely go for one of the two models with the Lithium battery as the cheapest model uses a Ni-Mh battery which takes forever to charge and doesn’t last as long.I’m really happy I went for this, it works great and although I don’t get a finish as good as my barber does it, it is the closest thing to it and tides me over in between my visits to the barber.The comb height is easily adjustable and it glides very smoothly over the skin and feels good. It does a good job at cutting for every pass and the other attachments it comes with work great for the finishing touches. Even the included free razor blade comes in useful for doing my neck area and tidying up the lines.All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend this as my experience with it so far has been nothing but positive.

What we like about this product is, The Battery life is Great. This is a Beard 🧔 Trimmer and Hair clipper. Which is Brilliant. And it’s Easy to use. And Easy to Hold. The make of this is Braun. It Also has a length selector. A full charge takes 1 Hour and provides up to 100 minutes of cordless time. This product has A charging indicator too. It Also has a Travel lock 🔐 Precision beard comb (1-10mm) precision Hair comb (11-20mm) You can wash this with Actual water 💦 But Always Disconnect from Electricity before doing this. comes with different head size Accessories too. 😀

Product feels well made and it does a great job at clipping hair with easy adjustment in 0.5mm steps. I used to trim my hair between 10 to 20mm. Accessories feel well made although the foil head is slow to use and didn't trim beard that close. Very good product, nice to use. Slightly let down by the poor two pin plug which requires a firm holding shaver adapter otherwise the unit will not charge. The charger is also quite long and therefore pulls on the shaver socket making charging more difficult. Overall a good product if you can get it to charge. If Braun supplied if with a 3 pin plug it'll be perfect. Like many manufacturers they could quite easily include a 3 pin adapter to give the best of both worlds. Unfortunately a 3 pin is not supplied.

Bought this product 18 months ago during lockdown..paid for itself in terms of money saved from barbers (not that anyone could go!). Good product at the time without issues. 18 months down the line the battery is not charging as it should..it'll seem as if it's taken the charge it needs with the light but then you won't get through even a full beard shave. It'll start catching on hair, which it painful, and stopping despite being pretty fresh from the charger. The battery will then die midway and you'll have to recharge and then go again. Wouldn't buy again..looking to purchase one with more longevity

Bought to trim hair during lockdown. Only option was to buy this or let hair grow. So bought this and was not expecting too much as it was more than I wanted to spend, was concerned that it was more of a beard trimmer than hair clipper.I needn’t have worried it clips hair very well and I have quite thick hair. So all good for hair clipping so imagine no issues for a beard. Ability to trim from no guards to 20mm in 1/2mm jumps.On the pricier side on Amazon but a quality product from a known manufacturer.
