Disappointing!
Black & Decker -- what happened? Have had two of these batteries for some time. They allowed me to cut my back yard at one time. They lasted almost 20 minutes apiece. This new one lasted for barely 8 minutes. Now with two batteries, I can manage to just finish one half of the back yard. To say I am disappointed is a little inadequate.

Battery life is shorter than expected
I have a B&D string trimmer that is 7 or so years old. Just moved and with a larger yard needed another battery to complete yard work. The new battery works but lasts ~66 percent of my old battery that is still going strong. For nearly $50, I have a new battery that doesn't last as long as the old one...I don't feel that was a very good deal.

High Cost - Short Lifespan
These batteries work well when new and fully charged. They have a short life cycle and are expensive. I’ve used every B&D charger recommended and the results are the same. The bottom line is that I do not recommend the 24v B&D tools, but if you use them, these batteries are going to be recurrent, and expensive replacements to keep your tools operating.

OK if 5 minutes is all you need to get your work done
I got 5 maybe 10 minutes out of the last charge. That was enough to weed-eat about 100 linear ft. I could barely get another 80ft out of it by switching the trimmer to the enhanced output mode. That's not enough for me.I don't know how many charges I will get out of it. I will try to update when I know.Sure wish there was an NIMH or Lithium version of this.Improving weed eater so it doesn't eat so much line:BTW, I added a small piece of duck tape to the part of the release lever that sticks up into the spool of line. The purpose was to add a little more weight to the lever so it wouldn't trip as easy. Seems to have helped.

Ridiculously Short Run Time
I read other reviews claiming that the battery didn't hold a charge for long - but this is the only battery I could find that fit my B&D cordless weed trimmer so I bought it. Boy were the reviewers right. After charging for 9hrs the battery lasted for 11minutes. I have a one acre yard so needless to say this is beyond frustrating. The original HPB24 battery that came with the weed trimmer 5yrs ago would last almost 25 minutes. I ended up buying a 100ft extension cord and using an electric trimmer as much as possible and saving the cordless for the areas farthest from the house.

Looked high and low for this item. Had a complete set of B&D tools that run on 24 volt batteries - that Lowes no longer carries. Wasn't about to toss them and start all over. Appreciate this product, the performance and quick delivery - back in business!

Doesn’t hold a charge
The first battery we got was supposed to be new but was all dinged up and didn’t hold a charge longer than 10 seconds. So I returned it and amazon sent another. Same problem. Looked at the packaging and noticed it says it was packaged in 2016 — 3 years ago! Old, crappy, batteries.

What can you say its a battery
I gave it five stars just to say compared to other batteries it is good. What can you say its a battery. Works well holds life. But for use with the cordless saw it will only cut 2 4 foot boards before losing its charge at full charge. If you plan to use it with a saw I recommend owning at least 2. Holds charge while used in a Driver/Drill. Good quality for the tools it is used in thought black and decker would be substandard but they work great. Battery charge time depends on the charger. There is a quick charger which will do the job in an hour. Though quick charging will reduce battery life and charge length. Charge in the normal charger takes 3 hour normally, 9 hours for guaranteed full charge.Like all batteries for cordless power tools the price is enough to make you want to mount a possey and tear down the company. Most batteries can be reconditioned when the seem dead. There are various techniques you can use to revive a dead battery don't throw them away if you give them to tool suppliers they will recondition them and sell them. A quick jolt from a car battery will spark enough life to allow charging. At $56 bucks a pop worth a try. Besides the price it is a battery and works well. Another thing I have heard but not tried that 18V batteries will work in the 24V power tools. If your battery seems dead you can recondition it but I recommend owning a second one anyway the life could short on reconditioned batteries.
