Finally a truely squirrel proof feeder!! Several updates!
I have purchased this feeder about a week ago and I just love it. I'm back here to purchase 2 more. I live on 3 acres of wooded land and I have a ton of squirrels that have defeated every feeder I have ever tried. After a week they are still trying but they have not been able to beat this feeder! Easy to assemble, easy to fill and holds a lot of seed. After a week of heavy activity I still have 3/4 of the feeder still full.My woodpeckers are back and goldfinches which were a rarity are now a common site several times a day! I'm using the same high quality seed, but they just seem to like this feeder better. I thought they might be able to chew through the cylinder but so far so good. That this is covered for life makes it a worthwhile investment. I just wish I would have gotten one sooner...I would have saved a fortune in bird seed.I've never been cheap on my feeders...always getting the best of what I thought was available and this feeder is actually less expensive then the last one they destroyed so I feel it is well worth the money. I have yet to take it apart, clean it and put it back together...I only do that once a month. If I find any issues with that I will update and lower my stars.I plan I purchasing several more for holiday gifts.UPDATE: I've had the feeder for about 4 months now. The squirrels gave up after about a month and don't go near it anymore. I found that as long as I clean the feeders every month or so, the seed stays dry even though I don't keep the feeder in a covered area like an overhang. CLEANING: it's important to clean these feeders or else mold will accumulate by the feeding holes and can harm the birds. I found disassembling the unit very easy and although it can go in the dishwasher, it cleans so fast with hot water I just do it by hand. I know this next warning is wasted on the guys but I will say it anyway: GO TO THE YOU TUBE VIDEO on how to disassemble before you try to clean this or I promise you will regret it. Even though I had watched the video once I still forgot the trick about sticking your fingers in the feeding holes to release the tube for cleaning (when you see the video you'll understand). Once taken apart it is a snap to clean and very easy to put back together. Just go the the Brome site or do a youtube seach on “How to clean a Brome birdfeeder”. I can say I am more than happy with the money spent on this feeder, it was more than worth the price tag and I highly recommend it.UPDATE: well I've had the bird feeders for over a year now and they continue to work wonderfully. The squirrels have given up on them although occasionally they pop by to try to foil them but are unsuccessful. The birdfeeders remain in good working order and they are very easy to clean. These feeders are worth every penny I paid for them.UPDATE: OK, I don’t remember the year that I’ve purchased this but it’s been a long time. I’d have to say over five years… And I wanna say closer to 10, but I’m not sure. So after all of these years, the plastic cylinder that holds the seeds cracked. I called Brome and all they needed was my name and address and they sent me out replacement parts, including a couple of extras that I wasn’t sure about. All at no charge. This is why you spend the extra money for this feeder!UPDATE: OK so I just checked the date and I bought this feeder originally in 2016 so it’s nearly 10 years old as I thought. The parts came but I didn’t think they fit, so I called customer service. That woman stayed on the phone with me for over 20 minutes and walked me through what I was doing wrong until I had the entire feeder back together! This is why you pay the money for this feeder, 10 years old and she treated me like I had just bought it last week! It just doesn’t get any better! The second photo is of the feeder now nearly 10 years old with the new replacement parts.

Works Great
Excellent. This is the best bird feeder we have purchased. It is completely squirrel proof for eastern gray squirrels. It is made from heavy duty materials that squirrels cannot damage or defeat. This saves us $s on bird feed. One thing I am watching is flying squirrels. We have noticed that the seed seems to go down during night time hours. We have lots of flying squirrels in this area and had previously had them get into our attic. They are light and *might* be getting some seed at night. I want to setup a camera to either prove or disprove this.

Infallible. Very well built. Make sure if you pole mount the pole is exactly 1" OD!
2020.06.29: After a year-long war with Sciurus carolinensis, the Eastern Grey Squirrel, I decided to try and match wits. Bought a Squirrel Buster Plus seed and suet feeder combo. I also added the Weather Guard, pole mount, and also a Predatorguard baffle. So far, only the woodpeckers and nuthatches have taken to them both. But, they seem to be impenetrable to those little furry...you knows. Yellow-Bellied Sap Suckers were afraid of the weatherguard at first. I may remove it for now. I think they were getting too close to it upon landing. Bird visits have been scant the first two days, but the Nuthatches have definitely caught on. I installed the Cardinal ring, but they are still feeding off the ground. Squirrels thus far are perplexed. They cannot get from the ground past the baffle, but I have not seen them jump from the surrounding trees or attack from above. Time will tell and I will update as things play out. NOTE! If you go to your local hardware store and ask for a 1" OD pipe, MAKE SURE IT IS, IN FACT, ONE INCH! I got 1", and it even said 1" OD, but it was 1.15". THIS CANNOT BE UNDERSTATED. I installed the pipe in a two-foot deep hole that took me all day to dig (we live basically on bedrock), and did have very good luck just using spray foam instead of concrete. But the pipe was simply too big for the pole adapter to fit on. Luckily, I was able to find a piece of PVC electrical conduit that had threads on both ends. It tapped perfectly into the end of both, allowing for a sort of adapter. I don't know how long it will last against repeated rodent jumps, but easy to replace. I didn't have much problem putting everything together but the instructions were a bit fractured. Sordid details following...UPDATE 2020.07.03: Birdles are definitely catching on. Albeit slowly. I ended up raising the weather guard and securing it at the top of the feeder with a rubber band (for now). It did seem the birds were startled by it as they made their approach, perhaps even hitting their wingtips on it. The rodent baffle below seems to be doing more than anything to keep the squirrels at bay. Eventually, they will attack from above, like in ALIENS. That's usually how that landed on the old feeders. I am definitely saving on seed! But the squirrels are still getting a bit to eat from what does fall from the feeder when the birds get sloppy. And the suet feeder is also functioning perfectly thus far.UPDATE 07.18.2020: Infalliable. Not one squirrel has managed to get a bit of seed from the feeder. They do, however, still get dropped seed from birds, so it is a win-win for my wildlife. The baffle I placed on the bottom pole probably does more to keep them off the ring; to keep them from even trying. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTPZB7L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I recommend this as well as the OEM top baffle. Birds absolutely love this feeder, and the entertainment it affords when the squirrels get on it is almost worth the investment by itself!UPDATE 7.8.2021: Still going strong. Great entertainment when the squirrels try and get to it. The lower baffle slipped the other day affording the rodents easy access to the pole and hence the feeder. But they were met with immediate denial of seed. Laughable to see them slip off and bang the baffle! The short PVC adapter I use to fit the feeder to the pole (see above) finally slid down into the pipe itself. I should have secured it better. But a trip to the hardware store for another 3/4" threaded pipe solved the problem. I made sure this one can't slide down. Still loving this feeder and so are the birds.

It truly works...!
This squirrel buster really works!!!! I've had no squirrel issues for over 2 months now. I also purchased a (4 piece) 24 inch squirrel baffle, which works great. I purchased the weather guard and specific pole that goes with this bird feeder. I highly recommend the specific pole that goes with this feeder. I have to admit that it was a bit of a pain to assemble the feeder, and there's a bit of play when re-attaching the lid after filling this feeder. The feeder is also a bit heavy and cumbersome after filling it and trying to align it back up and onto the 3 prong attachment on the pole. The pole has a great alignment feature and it twists into the ground, which seems very sturdy. Other than that, I'm very pleased that I don't have fill the feeder daily like I had to with my old feeder, and I'm saving money on having to frequently buy bird seed.

This one works!!!!!
Finally! I have a squirrel-proof bird feeder! I have purchased many, and the critters always find a way to hang like Spiderman or run down the battery and pig out. This feeder is large, simple, and effective! Those pesky squirrels were so mad that they sat on the branch above screeching and flicking their tails. Now they have given up, and my bird seed lasts longer than 1 day. This is a great feeder!
