Niederegger Marzipan Classic Bar - BSW, 3.88 Ounce (Pack of 10)

I've enjoyed these chocolate covered marzipan bars for most of my life. I have not come across any other brands that meet or exceed the flavor quality that these have. The red ones (bittersweet chocolate) are the the best profile for my liking, the blue ones (sweet chocolate) are also good but a little too sweet for me. The newer bars, in this 10 pack, are slightly larger than the older versions of past years by weight, the price is holding very well (even though they are on the expensive side for chocolate bars). They have a fairly long shelf life of nearly a year if they are sent fresh ... at least according to the best before date. I would not risk ordering them when the weather is hot but they probably won't be available during those months of the year. These are kind of hard to find elsewhere in the US, great bars, excellent treat. Awesome for sharing around the holidays.

I've purchased these dark chocolate marzipan bars a few times in the past and when they're fresh, they're delicious and rate 5 stars!.These bars were not fresh, and they were not delicious. I ordered two boxes (20 bars), they were sold by Usluga's Store. I received my order on 4/4/24, the expiration dates on the two boxes were 8/2024 and 9/2024, so they should have been good still, right? Wrong!!!I opened the first box and eagerly unwrapped my treat. What's this? The chocolate bar is covered in a gray film, oh no, that's not good! I snap the bar in half and a good portion of the chocolate falls away. The marzipan filling is hard and dried out and so is the chocolate. I take a bite anyways, YUCK! I toss the bar in the trash, its inedible.I'm thinking to myself, please don't let the second box be like the first. I opened up the second box and unwrapped a bar, it has the gray coating, great. I take a bite and the bar is at least edible but its still not fresh, not like it should be.The seller has a non return policy so it looks as if I'm SOL on this candy.Caveat Emptor

Was introduced to Niederegger products by a fellow Studentin from Lübeck during my years studying in West Berlin in the 70s.By far the best marzipan on the market.Yes even better than the Nidar products from Norway . Flavor and freshness is first rate.

For years, these Noedergget Marzipan bars have been a favorite of mine and I have bought them here on Amazon several times and been pleased.This last order arrived on April 20, 21 sporting best-by dates of June 19, 2021... just two months within expiration. The Marzipan is a bit dry and chocolate has a bit of bloom.

I’ve been buying this chocolate for years. The marzipan is maybe the best in Germany. The chocolate has less sugar than American chocolate, and do good.Also, peanut free for my daughter with an allergy.

Don't fall for the price. These bars are OLD. The chocolate has fallen off the bar and the marzipan is dry.
