Ford Focus 2011 mk2.5 Numberplate lights and Side lights Upgrade
I bought 2 sets of these Philips LED's, one to replace the truly, truly hopeless halogen sidelighs bulbs up front and the horribly dim numberplate bulbs. They may cost a lot more than many other nasty led's on ebay but they are far superior and worth the every bit of the extra cost. As sidelights they match my Philips Xtreme Vision Halogen headlights really well and when used just as sidelights they are actually bright enough to well... see but not nasty chav blue white, plus the lumen output is fairly soft, so while they are brighter than halogen wedge bulbs, they won't dazzle other drivers which is very important to me.As numberplate lights they eluminate the numberplate much better than standard halogen wedge bulbs without looking so bright that they blind other road users, again important so as not be a nuisance to other drivers, plus they look a lot more modern and the light is warm enough not to look chav tastic.

Dash errors on VW otherwise expensive but ok
Well, I suppose they're fine if you have an internal use where there's no canbus check. They were no use on my wife's Scirocco as there were immediate dash errors and there's no way I can find with VCDS to prevent checking of the sidelight bulbs (others yes). Were quite a lot brighter than the halogen equivalents we used in the end. The warm white 4000k was a closeish match to halogen headlights, but still maybe a little whiter. The bulbs have white diffuser domes over the leds. These tend to pull straight off when you remove the bulb, but clip on easily enough again. Not sure why you'd pay a lot more for these then other LEDs however since there's no compatibility benefit.

Just the right tone - not a bling look
Just the right warmth and colour - warm white, 4000k thanks to other reviewers for pointing me to this. Doesn't look stupidly bright, doesn't attract attention. The bulbs have to be turned 180 deg in the socket if they don't light staright away, and since the two fittings are in series, then you have a 1/4 chance of getting it right first time (1/2x1/2). Leave a tungsten in one and change the other, then compare and change the second one. Value for money is based on eliminating not knowing when a tungsten has failed, although they are expensive compared to tungtsten. Longevity is based on not proven, although expect they'll be fine.Be careful with the diffuser caps, as they do come off if you pull too hard when repostioning.

Error code & VERY dim.
Tried these in BMW 118d (f21) to replace halogen drls and brought up the dreaded error code. Not worth the hassle of getting a resistor etc, especially when the light output was so bad. A complete waste of time and money, item returned. I'll probably just get the mtech super white xenon effect halogen bulb, that will give white look and error free.

Quality bright light
Replaced the interior lighting in my car with these, providing a lovely white, bright upgrade to previous bulbs; giving clear as day view at night. Can't comment on longevity since these are supposed to last for years (and I've only just got them), but being a reputable name, you can expect them to last, and for Philips to honour any claim for the odd bulb that goes early.Cheap Chinese bulbs, as great as they can be, often hit and miss and a ticking time bomb as to when they'll suddenly go on you. Most LED options use an array of smaller, cheaper LEDs to get higher brightness levels whereas Philips took no shortcuts and provided a more expensive, single, powerful LED that looks a beast.Quality bulb replacements sure to last a long time.

Wish I hadn't bothered.
Bought these for reversing lams on my car after reading favourable reviews. In my opinion they just do not spread the light down onto the road where it is required. Much less of the light seems to end up on the road and more is lost to the surrounding. I will put my 21w filament lamps back in. I don't suppose it is the fault of the lamp, just not designed for revering lamps.

Although Philips, these arent very good
Bought these thinking they would out-perform ones i had bought previously - how wrong i was!!I have an astra van with only the one light in the front and one in the back. Thinking these festoon lights were philips they would be brighter and whiter than what i have. I was wrong.I wouldnt recommend these festoons (41mm) specifically for anything!!I would highly recommend CYLED for all festoons as they are ALOT brighter and whiter for £7 posted for two!

Would not illuminate at all for me
These would not illuminate at all in my Astra H Facelift despite trying different polarities. No canbus errors, nothing! Something weird was going on though as the original filament bulb would not work afterwards either until I not only switched off the lights, but turned off the engine, waited five minutes and started it again. Who knows...
