This is by far the best pocket folding knife I've ever owned!
This is by far the best pocket folding knife I've ever owned! Even though used, it came in the original box, and I couldn't find any signs of use. The blade is a work of art, very beautiful, very sturdy, and VERY sharp. It was fairly easy to flip open, but as usual I added some BreakFree CLP to smooth it out just a little more, and it easily opens and closes with a flick of the wrist. The handle looked kinda cheap at first, but it's a glass-reinforced nylon, very light, and apparently very strong from what I've read online. The design was a bit extreme, so I was worried it wouldn't be comfortable, but quite the contrary! It's almost as if it was custom designed for my own hand, it fits perfectly with a casual grip, and a death grip with the blade pointing on either side of your hand. I'm surprised that even the belt clip doesn't dig into my hand, no matter how tightly I grip it.It slices through a stray beard hair like a hot knife through butter, and I'd say it's on the verge of being dangerous for opening packages, as it can cut through cardboard with simple ease. I hope I don't lose this one, it's definitely a keeper.

You shouldn't like it just because you paid 90 bucks for it...
Every review I read for this knife before I bought it said it was SUPER AMAZING BEST KNIFE EVER... more or less. I think these people may want to like the knife they spent 90 bucks on more than they actually like the knife. So here is a review from the shores of the river deNile for all those swimming in it.I bought this knife as my everyday knife to replace my crkt m16-12zer, which is the best everyday knife I've ever had. I wanted a knife with better steel and I definitely got that with the vulcan mini, the blade is great and durable, but the rest is cheap. It feels cheap, I almost lost it the other day because the clip is poorly designed, the clip comes away from the knife so it can slip off your pocket. I removed the clip and bent it back and it's fine for now but I expect more from a folder in this price range considering the m16 is half the price and solid as a rock. There is a little bit of blade play. I guess the locking system is great but it feels Mcguyver'd or something, the toggle doesn't feel solid and the blade locks with a little play.I got the tanto. Don't get the tanto. It's very cool but it has a re curve which I have to sharpen on the edge of my stones which sucks. I wish I had thought about that before I got it. However I haven't had to sharpen it, after a few months of good use, just strop it once a week or so and it's still razor sharp. It did come with a good edge. You can get it with a different blade shape, a drop point I think. The zytel feels good and it's well balanced. The clip design defeats the vulcan and a reliable everyday carry. It's not a bad knife, I just expected more.

I love the blade on this knife (hopefully I will be able to sharpen it), but the knife does not open with ease and the plastic handle feels cheap.

Simple yet strong
This is a great knife for any collection...As a collector, I am always on the hunt for the "perfect knife." I must say that the Vulcan series is in my top 5....The Vulcan mini tanto is elegant, durable, and grips nicely....Although it is not spring assisted the action is smooth, and the knife opens with ease. VG-10 japanese steal always comes razor sharp out of the box and requires little maintenance or worry that the tip will snap off.... Handle material maxes for an extremely light weight knife which is can be a benefit depending on attire (concealing in a suit)... Over all a great knife for everyday use.SOG Specialty Knives & Tools VL-04 Vulcan Mini Tanto Knife, Satin.

Clip catches everywhere
I was in love with the knife for the first week. Today it seems a little puny, or flimsy. The clip catches on my chair at work and on my couch cushion. I have had to bend it back into place a few times. It is not my EDC, it mostly sits at home.

Great EDC knife
I have had this knife for about a week now and really like it.Pros:- very concealable with matte grey clip that fits deep in my pocket- thin and light enough that I don't notice it too much.- nice edge profile with tip that is good for piercing- smooth action that is quick to open- solid and tight construction- at 3 inches, blade appears to be legal in most jurisdictions.Cons:- I can't think of much.- The knife does look "serious", which could be good or bad depending on the situation.- It is a VG-10 laminate, not all VG-10 like the regular mini vulcan. Not sure if this better or worse.UPDATE 10/2/12: I have been carrying this knife virtually every day for over a year now and LOVE it. It does have some scratches on it now. Not sure if that could be the result of the lower quality steel that is used as the outer laminate, as opposed to the VG-10 that is used for cutting edge itself. My favorite thing about this knife is that it opens almost as fast as a switchblade and can be closed--all with one hand. It holds an edge quite well, and the clip is hardly showing any wear. I would have preferred a more rubberized grip than the black plastic one, but the plastic is quite durable.

Fast shipping and excellent packaging. The Leatherman tool feels very premium and sturdy.
The General Electric M61A1 Vulcan is a 6-barrel 20mm cannon of the Gatling-type. It fires standard M50 ammunition at 6,000 rounds per minute and is integral part of the armament of modern fighters such as the F-15, F-18 and of course the F-16. Our Vulcan is also formidable with a powerful strength of construction. There is nothing weak about the Mini Vulcan. Take for instance our patented Arc Lock system. Or, the full steel liners encased in glass reinforced Zytel handles. The blade is a full 0.125-Inch thick san mai with tanto shape and includes our new kick deployment of the blade. Press on the back of the blade and the knife comes out fast. Reversible clip, Arc-Lock and double thumb studs make for complete ambidextrous use. Limited Production
