Great product!
I am incredibly satisfied with this product. I began having a few fine lines and discoloration as well as damage from years of tanning in a tanning bed so I decided to try this product. I began with the 1x since I read the retinol can be hard to adjust to, and I am glad I started there. Within a month of trying the 1x, I could tell my fine lines were diminishing and my skin was smoother. Once I tried the 2x, I could tell within two weeks that my skin had dramatically improved. My fine lines are all but gone and my skin is smoother than I've ever remembered. My only complaint is occasional redness and burning that usually goes away with an hour or so. It is bearable and I will continue to use the product. I would recommend this product to anyone who feels their skin needs to be tightened and brightened.

Buy the lower dosage first
I used a different product before, so I thought my skin wouldn't be sensitive to this but it was, so I wish I would have bought the first step first! It made the skin my one of my eyes dry and scaly, and now there are more wrinkles over there than before... which worries me, but it might just be a dry-skin, temporary thing. The research on retinol is pretty solid, but I won't use such a high dosage so soon!

it works
I am 72 and have massive wrinkling around my mouth and some wrinkling on the rest of my face. I thought this product did help my skin and give it a healthier tone which my friends commented on. They said I looked much healthier with better color to my face--younger! Affirm was easy to use and feels good on your skin. I think the price is okay too. The tube may seem small but it goes a long way and spreads easily on your face. Give it a try! This worked better than the other products i have tried. I didnt get much help with mouth area but as I said those wrinkles are massive. Still, it does work.

Two Stars
Made my skin feel nice, but it did nothing to improve my complexion.

great product
I previously used another more expensive spa brand retinol that was .5%. Honestly it didn't work as well as Afirm - even though Afirm 2x is a smaller percentage of retinol. It seems to soak into my skin better and it is less drying than the previous product I used. The results I get from this are refined skin texture, less fine wrinkles, clearer acne free skin and tighter pores. I am 44 and going through hormone changes that have aged my skin and caused minor acne breakouts. This stuff REALLY works well! Everyone thinks I am in my late 30's.

Perfect! For temporary solutions
Pro's1. Texture - smooth light texture2. Strength - .3% retinol is the FIRST ingredient. This is important with retinol products.3. Mild tingling, not stinging irritation. With retinol, those are common symptoms.Con's1. Thickness - A lighter feel would be nice, but since it evaporates and doesn't leave a greasy feel on my dry skin I don't mind. Normal or oily skin might not like it.2.Too many unnecessary additives. The emulisifier count is high: Emulsifying Wax,Cetyl Alcohol Stearic Acid and PEG-10 Soy Sterol. Which probably makes it have that heavy thick feeling. Sometimes more isn't better. Maybe it's cheaper in bulk, than just using the light cetyl alcohol and a little stearic acid - so they cut it with the others?3. For those who follow trends, there is a paraben. I personally, try to stay informed so the quantity of parabens versus the potential of bacteria being smeared on your face daily - the anti-bacterial wins out. Do I prefer another one? Hmm not necessarily. It covers ones that others don't.4.The price- given that prescription strength has a higher quantity of retinol and the unnecessary fillers, no it isn't worth it. It suited my needs temporarily. But in the long run, I'll go to my dermatologist for stronger. (i have discoloring because of psoriasis and pimples because I have brown skin.)
