Solid Advice
Human life has always involved much uncertainty, and our current circumstances are no exception (post 9/11 terrorism risk, financial crises, pathogen pandemics, political instability, intensified globalization, etc.). In this book, Susan Jeffers proposes that we can not only learn to live with uncertainty, but we can even embrace it by seeing the positive in it.As I understand it, her main idea is that, rather than fearing the unknown future and rigidly expecting particular outcomes, we should instead focus on and appreciate the positive aspects of the present (remaining aware that death can come at any time), while approaching the future with an open-minded and flexible sense of wonder and adventure, guided by a uniquely individual and intuitively discerned "higher purpose" within a "grand design." And when the going sometimes gets really tough (as it surely will), we should try to maintain a degree of non-attachment, have confidence that we can cope, aim to learn and grow from these difficult experiences, and accept that perhaps things are happening the way they are for a meaningful reason. These are fairly standard self-help ideas (with much borrowed from Eastern philosophy), but they're still solidly good ideas, and it's helpful to bring them together in the specific context of dealing with uncertainty. Moreover, Jeffers also suggests many practical exercises for people to try, which is vitally important since ideas need to be translated into action in order to make a real difference in people's lives.Highly recommended for people who find value in (good) self-help books.

Terrific book for COVID times and beyond
This book is very helpful in shifting mindset. It includes over 40 strategies for thinking about uncertainty in ways that are much more productive and wise than the default many of us live from. I will read this again and again, a little at a time. I'll read about one of the strategies and practice putting it into action and then go back and add another one. A powerful resource!!

Enjoyable yet helpful
I really like this book. I am only half way through but it has amazing. It puts a comical, yet serious look on anxiety yet also gives tips(exercises) to help with anxiety. There is a total of 52 i believe. One of those has to be helpful to you, right? i write them ALL down in a journal so that i can always refer to the journal rather then looking through the book for a favorite exercise. Some may sound silly but others have helped me.

One of the best self help books
I have read this book a couple of times and every time I find something new and inspiring. It is a simple guide on how to go through life without causing suffering to ourselves by understanding the changing nature of the world around us and learning to approach it with an observer’s mind and a positive attitude.

Brilliant, useful writing by a first-class thinker and teacher
Susan Jeffers is a national expert on fear and tools to move past fear. This book is a recent effort, and is in a sense the next stage past her best-seller "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway." She takes what has to be one of the most unnerving topics for most people to even consider, embracing the uncertainty of life, and offers pragmatic, clear tools for doing exactly that. Just the discussion of letting go of outcomes should be required reading for anyone 10 years old and up. While the book has a spiritual leaning it is by no means necessary to be of any spiritual belief, or even spiritual at all, to find this book highly useful.

Susan Jeffers wrote with passion and she engages the reader from page one.
A must read for anyone searching for simple and effective "headline" type reminders to stay calm, focus on now, be grateful every day and to get out of our own way when it comes to anxiety, worry and the daily struggles we all must contend with. I first bought this in book form and re-read sections (Or even just a page) almost every day. Highly informative. Compassionate and well written.

Great Book! Highly Recommend
GREAT BOOK! This book is filled with many techniques and tips to help get through rough patches in life. I highly recommend this book. I purchased the hard copy of the book when it first came out. I have since purchased several paper backs and given to family members. I purchased this digital copy in order to have on my Ipad for quick reference. The book is really good. I wish Mrs Jeffers were still aluve and writing more helpful books. Highly Recommended.

Good book to read ,,,,,, very bad condition (was maked as "good") not even close disappointed in Amazon
Love the book....BUT unfortunately, I thought I was buying a book that was in good condition ---- it was the ugliest book I ever saw..... markings all through it ( in many different colors)...tissue paper stuck to the inside covers.... it was supposed to be a gift ( I don't even want it for myself).... very disappointed in what Amazon sent me and I still paid a good price for it.... had to give my copy away as the gift.... now I have this trashed book :(

I've read Feel the Fear and really enjoyed it and the book was one thing that helped me in making life changing decisions in the early 2000's.In the current lockdown I was looking for inspiration and this book title jumped out at me.I have not been disappointed - really good follow on from Feel the Fear, and timely reminder for me of living in the moment and working out what is really important to me.Been a great life support in these ever uncertain times. Thanks Susan!

It gets better as you read on so don’t put it down!!!
After reading feel the fear and falling I love with Susan’s work, I was so excited to read this one. Now, at first I must admit I thought it was a little negative HOWEVER I completely surrender and say I closed my mind and if you read on you will see why. Persist the first bit that can come across as a little negative, because as you read on you really see that Susan is basically teaching you practical techniques to manifest a wonderful relationship with life and yourself. So please, read on and make your magic ! Thank you Susan :)(I heard my intuition say someone needs to hear this) ;);)

Very good read, relatable, interactive and great style
This book is highly enjoyable and I highly recommend reading it! Most of us are afraid and feel anxious about uncertainty and uncertain events in the future but this book is absolutely brilliant in how to (realistically) turn your mindset around.I actually started EMBRACING uncertainty and cant wait to see what happens next. The past-me would disagree, loved the book :D

For me this was a very different view and as such has been a useful reading
I am very much into self-help books, but only chose to read this because it was recommended as a book that would widen my view of the world. The ideas put forward very early on seem so very different from what I normally choose to believe. If rather than always thinking how can we influence events, we follow some of the ideas in this book about accepting that we really are not going to change the 'big picture' or change those around us that much gives a very different perspective.Probably the key thing I have learned from this is just how differently others view the world and that there are certainly no right or wrong ways in this very uncertain world.Having written the above, I see I have done just as the author does later in the book and used the word 'certainly' which surely contradicts the title? Yes, we do live in a very odd world!
